I used Keynote, especially the magic move function, to create the animation. A magic move is transition that creates the effect of objects moving from their positions on one slides to new positions on the next slide. Then you can export the keynote file as a GIF.

Thanks for pointing out! I tried to write a blog post about SIEVE that was informative yet not too technical, and to infuse it with some humor. However, I clearly failed to find the balance. I'd like to change it back to a simpler, more straightforward style.

It's a long way to go for me to write a good tech blog. Criticism taken.
