I just learned about https://tenzen.studio/ who also rebuilt several adobe products but they're not open-source. They're webview-based and have weird usability issues that bothered me.

Photocraft feels so much faster, and it seems like they've done a better job at UX because things work the way I expect them to work. This is truly some impressive work.

You can feed their landing page into your favorite LLM to make your own vibe-coded version.

I especially like how an offline app has to periodically validate its license through polar.sh who themselves use personal data for advertising & marketing purposes, effectively turning the app into a paid tracking cookie.

As others said, this seems like an over engineered solution. I might've used this in the past if there was a windows or linux version since I tend to prefer visual UIs over CLI commands.

Anyway, I do really like the minimalistic design though.

WebGPU version feels incredibly slow for a Bevy project, crashes constantly, even for the most simplest looking scenes. I'm running it on my high-end desktop

There's a difference between making you feel and actually improving something. The word choice is definitely suspicious.

When using AI you're not the one doing the work, thus you don't feel the same satisfaction as crafting something yourself, nor does it incite any passion.

I had the same feeling at some point, until I went back to coding by hand just to exercise my skills, and I have to say after a while it felt so much better and I was hooked on working my little side project. Using AI doesn't scratch the same itch for me.
