This will push "criminals" further away from the common applications and they'll start using their own (forks?) and setup their own servers. Then there is no control at all anymore.

You should check out microg lineage builds. Running it on my phone for a few years now without a single google app.

Im using lineage with microg for 9 months now without missing anything. I'm curious what prevents you from using it for daily usage.

First thing a read was the red message about the remote code execution, didn't really increase my trust either.

I had the same experience with wonderboy 3: the dragons trap on the sega master system. Especially because it was a platform rpg where you could have different combinations of armor, weapons and shields.

If you use implicit tls/ssl, not using starttls, the data channel should be using tls/ssl too.

You can actually use ftp with implicit/explicit ssl, makes it as save as any other plain text protocol (smtp/imap/pop/...). They call it FTPS.

Back in the day we had to use debug.com at school to program small assembler apps. Most frustrating experience ever :) The things you had to do to fix a typo...

I have a similar experience. 20 years ago a friend told me a trick which only worked on vending machines from a particular brand. It only worked on the drinks with the lowest price. You had to put the exact money in the machine for a certain drink, add one cent and press the button for that drink right when you hear the "click" of the money. You get the drink and your money was increased by one cent. After you were done you could just get the money back. It required some practice but when your timing was good you could empty a complete machine. Since most of the vending machines had redbull and jupiler, which had the highest price, we had alot of free cola/sprite/.... I wonder if it still works.
