Yeah, it reads like a person who knows Nietzsche from Reddit comments.

> I'd say regular OOP is, after implicit `null`, the biggest mistake in software.

I love this website. It proves that software "industry" is a pop culture after all.

> Doesn't change the fact that the people is the government

That completely ignores realities of society, power and influence, even in democratic societies.

Nothing bold in it, as there is no more meaning in the AGI.

We already lived through multiple AGIs for the last few years.

For complex enough and long-running application your run-of-the-mill Rust (so probably what AI would generate) will likely be slower than your run-of-the-mill Java.

I know this is a heresy in some online religious groups pretending to care about engineering but that's reality.

I don't read to get personalized experience. I want to experience what other person has prepared for me.

I would need to see an example. Every text by AI I saw was always overly verbose, and very mediocre in regard to figurative elements. Yes, often it is not worse than you average thing you can read on the Internet, but this is the point, right?

I work for the company that sells HVAC and ref systems.

For last few years everyone talks about moving away from selling products towards selling cooling services, and connecting everything to the internet.

Of course, there are good premises - predictive maintenance, automation etc. But this won't make disasters that await us any smaller.

> Who is being myopic and arrogant?

People who use these things to some success, and then paint the trajectory of next 10 yrs and face every scepticism with "you are holding it wrong".

Yet most contributions to biggest FOSS projects like Linux, LLVM etc come from US corpos and institutions. Non-US actors may leverage them, but control over those projects is in hand of US actors, even if letters describing the license doesn't state that, because power in real world doesn't reside in license files or even commit stats.

Yes, in theory Europe (let's ignore there is no such political entity as Europe, but people pretend there is) could hard-fork them and maintain it, but in practice it won't happen, because if it could, it would already.

I wouldn't call them experimental. They just suck IMO, and that's my biggest gripe with using Julia, as language alone is nice, especially with slowly improving AOT. Of course you will also get replies with completely opposing views, so there is no other way than trying it yourself.

> Any open source software should be considered "international"

This so naive only a programmer could say this.
