Having a tech track is the right direction.

Having no track even better. Some people like what they are doing and the field is constantly changing. You want your best surgeons doing operations not managing other doctors.

Beware building against a paid api as the rates/rules will change under you and you will be more stuck compared to a public api.

I wouldn't trust any api you don't control, don't have a solid contract (without the changable terms) or isn't owned by a nonprofit.

The free ones will hurt you but you expect it. The paid ones hurt more because you often build a business around an ecosystem that eats you up.

The ones in the sidebar are based on global patterns to that specific video.

The homepage ones should show you subscriptions videos but also based on the last keywords/videos watched.

I don't see the value in using 2012-2019 videos watched when your recent ones speak more to what you currently are interested in.

Just because you share more things in common with those you hate doesn't mean the recommendation is broken.

If a large percentage of people who watch gun blowing up videos also are interested in the videos you mention than why wouldn't they show it (I assume if it were breaking guidelines it would be removed)

Mainstream media started killed credibility in the 80s and what we see is the result of a media that thinks it speaks for all but represents only half at best.

You give up the walk in bigger cities unless you pay top dollar for a downtown condo so you end up on transit (bus/subway), bike or even uber commuting

In this day and age of covid are subways and mass transit really that safe / healthy?

If you have developers that can use git they can setup and maintain a local git or source control.

If no one in your company can do that.. hire or outsource.

It wasn't fair to others for you to stick it out because your heart wasn't in it so you wasted everyone's time training you for a few months only to quit when you are finally half productive.

The real reason you left is the commute and office decor. Moving from a 15 walk to an hour trainride is a big change. Moving to an environment where people care more about product than impressing people is a huge culture shift.

In the end covid would have forced everyone wfh anyhow.

"I figured it wasn’t really fair to my colleagues at Nuro to stick in a job that my heart wasn’t in."

So, in the end, I decided that option 2 was the best fit for me. I continued at Nuro and did my best to get up-to-speed and to contribute to my team’s work, but at the same time jumped right back into the job market"

From my experience on here. When the articles hit the frontpage it is time to sell. If no story has appeared in 6 months buy.

Code quality has little to do with performance.

Code quality here is more messy code, code that work now but doesn't abstract, ugly variables names like x..

Things that may even make your performance better now but harder/impossible to scale later.

Using cloudflaire doesn't give me confidence this will in anyway not track me.

It makes sense the fingerprint you create with javascript can identify you easily. Without that google treats you as suspect.
