Have you tried “ A a a a a Very Good Song”?

It is 9 minutes of silence so that U2 album you never asked for doesn’t start playing at the most dangerous part of the journey.

I think this is exactly why the current "attack of the vibe-clones" will fail.

Vibe-coding complex software can work, but it's going to take a really disciplined team to manage this properly, like in this article.

> There is CLEARY dubious shit going on.

There is, but I'm just not sure what the end-game is. I'm seeing this in the GIS space too. It's like these people just want to take all the oxygen from the room, leaving no space for the legit apps built by creative thinkers.

> vibe cloned piracy is a demotivating force. It ruins the incentive to create.

I also feel demotivated by these clones. It devalues the legitmate pursuit of building creative apps to compete with the current standards.

> I think that knowing how code (and technical systems) work is going to continue to be valuable and perhaps even more valuable.

I think the art of refactoring will be more valuable than ever.

I'm having an LLM free day today, going through a lot of generated code, de-duplicating and making the abstractions more usable. It's quite enjoyable and improves my understanding of the code significantly.

> Too much effort is being invested in proving that the exponential curve is still holding.

Given sustained exponential growth is mathematically impossible to maintain with finite resources, it's funny to me they're using advanced mathematics to try and achieve this.

It’s straight-up false advertising and they should be held accountable.

> Everything is safe if you know what you are doing sufficiently.

Exactly. If nothing is risk free then the original statement we’re discussing is untrue.

> it counts as "safe" for practical purposes

So not risk free.

This is just a truism though.

Of course if you don't do something you're never going to be at risk from whichever activity it was.

Some activities always have risk, for example ski-touring (backcountry if you're a Yank). If there's skiable snow, avalanche danger is never zero.

I wonder if people say these things, they actually believe it?

You make some wild generalisations there.

Can you back up your claims?

Have you actually been to Burning Man?
