I wish I had more uses for my Casio calculator watch (CA53W). But these days it's faster to hold down the power button on my phone for half a second to activate a voice assistant. Now, if Casio made a smart watch that could run a micro-model on-device to do voice input for the calculator...

Whoa, this is crazy good. Although not being open source makes me wonder how long it intends to stay free.

Very cool, but I can't seem to jump up onto the benches, even with crouch jumping.

You can activate flying mode by double-jumping and crank the speed up with +.

What's the monetization pathway here? No private repositories (because everything is on ATProto) so near zero commercial use potential - CI is free, everything is free, no pricing page... Am I the product if I use this service?

"The law in America relies on intentionality, notes Rune Kvist, head of Artificial Intelligence Underwriting Company, which insures AI firms. If no human intended to hack anyone, no crime can have happened. The ability to sue for damages is limited too."

This is sloppy. Criminal negligence exists (although some crimes do require intent). And civil tort certainly doesn't require intent.

But if you told an embodied AI to do a home cleaning task, and it decided to pick up a gun and start spraying bullets, you might not want to be held liable for that.

Out of curiosity, what exactly is a "fully mechanical scissor switch"? And is this the first such switch on the market? If I search for other such products I can only find "metal scissor switch over rubber dome" style.

"Visual graph editor for AI workflows" seems like an extremely saturated market (Langflow, n8n). Consolidation seems natural as the agent engineering industry matures.

Multiple levels of disappointment here. This is about Hilbert curves, not physical lawn mowing. The participant interviews provide self-reported strategy, but the phrasing "why some people..." implied that there would be some discussion of causative factor beyond that, maybe a correlation between 2d Hilbert curve construction and performance in other more familiar tasks like 3d shape rotation, or measured testosterone levels.

Disappointments aside, this reminds me of how engaging the old game Flow Free was!

I feel obligated to warn future readers that this post contains decaying corpse imagery and is therefore not suitable for breakfast.

I find it interesting that they gave the father a funeral. So there likely was a proper eulogy given. People in that position often don't get a funeral.
