no theyre not. the founder has clearly never worked a day in maintenance-trades and doesn't understand the problem space at all. new construction residential plumbing is so cheap that there is no edge to having a robot do it, and emergency plumbing triage in finished homes is a game discovering exactly how wrong the usually non-existent schematics are.

university of utah has several studies on the matter. a substantial percentage of the snowpack sublimates during a heatwave, never has a chance to melt. Of the remaining snowmelt, it has to saturate the ground before any can flow to an adjacent stream to feed the water table, and the bone dry soil around here can absorb a significant amount of water.

your argument sounds very similar to how ar15 larpers claim they need a forced reset trigger and a bump stock on their short barrel 'truck gun' otherwise they won't survive a SHTF scenario... like what world are you living in?

i'm 36, self-employed. silver plans in my state are ~800/month next year, with 8k deductible, no out of network coverage at all, with no in-network providers out of my state, so god forbid I get injured while traveling to visit my in-laws. the marketplace is a joke and health insurance in this country is pointless.

I would honestly love to pay $2-$5 for a weekend license to Canva or Illustrator. Once in a blue moon I need to hammer a logo or an event flyer or a random SVG and then I won't touch the tool again for 3 months.

The Food Lab, by J Kenji Lopez-Alt should be on the shelf of any HN reader who likes to cook. dives deep into the 'why' behind each recipe, includes a lot of A/B testing results (e.g. differences roasting russet potatoes vs gold vs red)
