If you find yourself in Amsterdam, there are some terrific enclosures at Artis (the elephants I really enjoyed). It’s a very different feeling from most zoos in the US.

It also seems like they are trying to put this out as a creative endeavor that gives access to a really nice set of fonts without a fee associated (they link directly to Hoefler saying this is an open license replacement)

Feel like these things happen all the time in software as creative projects? Could be a tool for attracting design talent / interest?

shrug. It’s a nice typeface, cool project.

I am surprised how early the overall downward trend developed. There is no doubt LLMs put a nail in the coffin, but the 5 years from 2017 to 2022 look to have brought a non trivial decline of their own

Seems like this and parent are referring to two different waves of improvement. Pre-IR improvements in plowing and cultivation (still draft and human traction), followed by post-IR mechanization for harvesting and transport?

Not totally clear on what this is saying. Pay-for-curation isn’t absent from the web today, but most of all the $/unit <-> unit volume connection feels core to Costco, and isn’t really touched on here.

If streaming becomes metered on $/unit (article/track/episode? Or minutes/words?) then I think the Costco model would actually be in play?

There was a lot of this that was over my head (no pun intended) but I really enjoyed reading the whole thing. Sounds like a great job, and def a good read.

It looks like a sort of serial number or categorization. The first block they are T1. The second block they are T2. So each category (access, persistence, etc) is a T w a leading number and the issues/“tactics” inside of that have a 001, 002 etc, as a reference to that specific instance (meeting overload)

Edited for typos

The placements and counts tends to vary issue to issue, but in general is much lower volume than many publications. But agreed, the ads do tend to be almost comically high end (for me)
