OP: "I had an amazing time doing something. "

Commenters: "No you didn't."

So funny how fairly annoying it was to sign up for a phone number for a chatbot for my company going through the 10DLC campaign verification, being rejected like 3 times because I kept missing something and yet...none of it clearly really matters.

where do you work? >:)

100% a problem. but tight legal regulations never really work long term when technology overpowers it. AI is clearly exposing how fragile IP/copyright is and something a lot more extraordinary needs to exist for it to work properly. Perhaps cryptography related

FYI my response did include you originally, but i wasn't implying that you are spiritually defunct, just that thinking in terms of metrics _is_. Re-reading your comment I realize you were using the word metric in a different way anyway. But obviously i have no idea who you are and regardless of your particulars, the point i was making was broad sweeping based on my many years of experience in tech. Lots of people are spiritually dead, and I do think that a lot are so AI pilled that they're willing to trade in their humanity and entire brain if they could

i think a lot of people have forgotten this. most tech people are so metrics pilled that it's impossible for them to fathom anything spiritually richer

the argument of "we should be using AI to make sure it's being properly evaluated when we have no other reason to" isn't a good one. it's a nonprofit whose sole purpose is to provide commentary on culture/politics. I don't need AI shoved in there. I want to read human written stuff and i'm more than happy to see publications/literary agents decide they don't want to use it. I'm tired of reading lazy slop, full stop. I hope this actually encourages the rest of society.

FYI this is written by someone who's fairly bullish on AI and uses it pretty frequently on a daily basis.

i would LOVE to see this happen. we need an A24 of games

i generally agree, but i can imagine a world where a vibe coded game hits some certain "threshold" where it has a few properties:

- easily distributable, i.e there is a very clear way to play it fairly quickly

- it doesn't feel like slop even though it's vibe coded

- it's super fun

I predict that will be games, very very few, but there will be some that hit that inflection point likely through Twitch streamers picking it up. But I also predict that they will be a flash in the pan. Even fewer of the already few, the ones that will be here to stay will likely need to turn into an actual mini studio and take the development/customers seriously.

Most of them will be fun projects that die the day they get released simply because building a decent looking vibe coded game is commoditized. Maybe some fun twitter engagements, but nothing more.

and the market takes care of such things. if your app is able to absolutely kill it because your prompt was "make a cool app" then you got extraordinarily lucky, and have zero moat and will inevitably die unless you build a moat in a different area of the business. Taste/skill will always win, the end, full stop.

you should consume less internet -- will make you feel a bit better

you can have multiple agents run reviews and gut checks. open source models, etc. there are ways to go back and forth to get to some relative truth. regardless of complexity of said task, i would trust it a lot more than social media or search engines which are entirely corrupted by ad spend budgets.

and they would be 50x worse
