As an American, I find this opinion offensive. When you say the US needs to import skilled workers you are insinuating that Anericans aren’t intelligent enough or capable enough to fill positions. It doesn’t do my country any good to import someone to do a job while there are skilled Americans looking for work.

This website is awfully damning considering the game was supposed to be released over a year ago:

https://starcitizentracker.github.io/

As you can see, development has stalled and very little progress is being made.

To answer your question: they chose a game engine to create shiny demos and carefully crafted videos. They have no intention of releasing a fully playable game. They just need to keep the hype going to keep selling virtual spaceships and virtual land.

Relatively sophisticated. No matter how mainstream Reddit becomes, the average user is always going to be more tech savy than the average reader at cnn.com, for example. Therefore, because ad blockers are a problem for traditional publications, they’re certainly a problem for Reddit.

This is the end of Reddit. They can’t monetize the web version of their site because their users are sophisticated enough to use ad blockers. If they load up their mobile app with ads, people will just use a 3rd party Reddit app. So they’ll have to ban 3rd party apps which will betray all the users who got into Reddit because it was an open platform.

> We're talking something that's never been done before in the entire history of Bitcoin.

That is false. There were even rollbacks in the early days. Don’t talk about a subject you haven’t personally experienced or taken the time to research.

The earth isn’t flat. It’s not round either. Nor is it spherical. But we shouldn’t give up trying to describe its shape because no model will be sufficient. Rather, the earth can be thought of as flat, as round, as spherical, as elipsoidal, etc. The problem with flat earthers isn’t that they believe the earth is flat. Eveyone believes this. It’s that they approach knowlege as a fundamentalist taking the plain meaning of things without nuance or context.

With an interesting twist to it. Is it more or less immoral to switch tracks if they’ve already been run over by another trolley? Do we try to minimize the total amount of suffering or maximize the number of people with no suffering? Do you reflood a neighborhood to spare another that hasn’t flooded yet?

15,000 doesn’t sound like many. What’s the p-value?

There’s no worse pain than passing a kidney stone. Ibuprofen + acetaminophen works better than anything I’ve ever been prescribed. If it hasn’t worked for you, you might not have taken enough. Ask your doctor about the dosage. It’s safe to take more than what is recommended on the bottle.

I don’t think anyone should be learning from India until they fix with their massive list of problems.

I've stopped mining. It's still a little profitable on paper (~$1/card/day after subtracting electricity cost) but only because you can't measure what impact mining has on the life of your hardware.
