Lavender extract is about as effective as klonopin according to a study.

I use it to deal with my anxiety.

I don’t trust benzos in the slightest. Especially so after reading the horrors of this thread.

it would have been like 520 hours to download 500mgb. Assuming it didn't break at some point.

That was pretty tough in that day and age. Especially from pirate sites.

mIRC had some good servers but getting someone to keep a direct connection with you for that long was problematic too.

And then if you didn't have a dedicated phone line for the modem...

good ole Rule of Acquisition #1 - Once you have their money, you never give it back.

Considering what work looked like in even the 18th century it was indeed rest in comparison.

you can test case / bug fix your way through bad code. You can't always do that with art.

Also - the playerbase is sometimes ok with buggy games; for example - the first ARK game was a buggy nightmare, but it was still awesome and fun (it used the unreal engine visual development system...)

have you considered the token inefficiency of what you're doing and that you're burning electricity to re-invent the wheel? I'm being a bit of a PITA here but if everyone does what you suggest the real world implications could be staggering.

Especially if we aren't committing code back into public places for LLMs to ingest and use.

I think from an efficiency standpoint it's almost always better to use something already battle tested and used in the open than rolling your own; regardless of leveraging LLMs or not.

definitely take the breaks when you need them. I've already had a few friends just get lost in the AI train of stuff and suffer mentally a bit.

That is totally false.

They have been getting replacement MiG-29s and Su-25s from allies and are starting to use f-16s from NATO nations.

"A coalition of NATO countries, primarily the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, and Belgium, are providing F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. The United States authorized the transfer and is providing training and spare parts, with deliveries having begun in 2024 to strengthen Ukraine's air force against Russia."

So yes, they still have an airforce. They're just getting re-supplied.

Also the Ukrainian airforce was ULTRA conservative about sorties to make sure they conserved as many fighters as possible.

Remote code execution - aka they can run arbitrary code on the compromised machine via the bug.

Basically the worst possible thing.

That's fucking insane. Thank you for sharing.

I had a bad feeling we were basically already there.

They have variable dc power supplies on amazon on the cheap.

If you want that sort of reliability it will probably go towards 100$.

Please go try and do anything on the internet at 2G speeds in todays world.

You can barely even use FB messenger (you need to get messenger-lite).

I only know this cuz tmobile would give you free 2g all over europe. it was JUST BARELY helpful. mostly just sms and email.

google maps was unusable etc. This only got worse over the years.

They now give you free 3G and it's bearable. 2G is insanely slow in the 2020+ world.

2G ~= 5 KB/s. That means 40 seconds just to download a properly optimized react bundle.

5MB site? 16+ minutes.

thank you going to try this. I noticed my heartburn got a lot worse after having to take a few courses of antibiotics.
