A lot of aging millennials would agree with this statement. PS2 was peak Sony for sure and the original Xbox is one of the very few things Microsoft got right.

That argument swings both ways. There's no real reason to bet on OAI or Anthropic. Not with the rise of local models and the increasingly desperate attempts at regulatory capture.

I still think someone should foot the bill to boost the ISS into a museum orbit. Same with Hubble when it's time. These were such landmark achievements for our species, it's a shame to let them burn.

There's something about the way Ghibli does aircraft (and clouds!) that is simply magical. One can almost taste the freedom of flight every time a ship or craft is on screen.

I'm very rarely moved by art and movie magic, but whatever Ghibli does with flight just really gets me every time.

The movie is pretty clear in its intent to show this as a bad thing. To the point of stating it out loud several times. The climactic fight ends with both men losing and nearly killing each other.

If you think it's objectifying and sexist, that's a you problem.

As a firmware engineer, I had Claude and Qwen spend about two hours writing my own multi-chip emulator. I can connect multiple firmware images together with gpio, UART, SPI, etc. I didn't even prompt for this, they decided they needed this capability on their own and wrote the emulator.

What does your product offer that Claude hasn't already suggested and built on its own?

Never in history has a new technology been forced on so many people so quickly. Most people do not have the option to not use AI, which is a large part of the hatred.

Elon is fine with deadnaming so it's fair game to ignore his website's preferred name

We csnlt buy BYD cars because our government tariffed them to hell and back. There's literally no reason to not expect the same would apply to parts.

I'd pay embarrassing amounts of money for applications which do not get biweekly UI overhauls.

I'm still using the 2024 version of JetBrains IDEs because the UI hadn't changed in over ten years. I quit paying JetBrains when they ripped out the perfectly functional UI and replaced it with a VSCode reskin.

Please, for the love of god, give me software with a consistent UI.

They started losing traffic at catastrophic rates before ChatGPT was released. You can check this information yourself, we did not have AI when SO started falling off a cliff

Maybe we should all respond to LLM text walls with aggressively doubled LLM text walls, expanding geometrically until the originating party either gives up or learns to communicate with their own words.
