Darn, I applied to y'all for the Durham location in July but got a rejection after a week. I wonder if my resume - which I've tweaked since - was the issue. Wonder if it's worth applying again?

I've been using https://www.npmjs.com/package/html2pdf.js for a project, and it works pretty nicely - it will render a DOM element into a PDF for me.

Https://tyrel.dev/ A decade of intermittent blogging. Nothing much of substance but I still try to maintain it. Combines Tech, Flying, Coffee, and more.

Pelican site, HTML, images, and CSS only, no JS!

Yeah, knowing one of the developers personally, they actually didn't post this. Someone else posted this to Twitter/Reddit/HN.

One of my co-workers preordered this, I hope to skim through it if he brings it into the office.

Will you be adding more customization of the "User" or is all customization per channel?

It was difficult to figure out how to set an avatar at first, I had to go under my stream page and edit there, rather than in the settings. Maybe I'm confused between the distinction between a user and a stream?

I've used this before and it works really well. I migrated the same wordpress install multiple times with it (once to move domain, the other to change it to https) and I didn't have a problem either time.

Of course -- YMMV, and you should definitely back up your database before.

True, this will be default if you don't namespace your keys and use ssh config files like I do, I should have just said that.

Seeing a key with substring of "Tyr" as the username and that substring of my key matching scared me a bit.

If you want to check how many bits your key is, use

ssh-keygen -l -f ~/.ssh/your_key.pub

(It wasn't mine, while it is an older key, mine is larger than 768 thankfully)

Edit: look at timdorr's example for a better visual.

Come to Quincy's, there's a road off of Southern Artery where their back door is. That side road barely has any traffic and drop offs are easy.

I was born in a 0% more likely county! Hooray for being average.

My name is Tyrel, I run into this a lot of the time as well.

I'm from New Hampshire, which has a very small black population (less than 2% I believe). It was always awkward when girlfriend's parents would make a big deal about "Oh my god you're dating a black man?" when they would tell their parents my name.

Another story is when I was in college, I joined a fraternity. The only black member at the time was disappointed, when we met he said, "Aw man, I thought you were black!"

My last story also is from college. I moved into a dorm where I had a black room mate named Jared. People would confuse him for me, and vice versa, a lot if they hadn't met either of us, but needed something from us. Saying to me "Is Tyrel around? Oh I thought you were Jared..." and the opposite to him I presume.

Over all, I don't have many problems with my name, but I do wish it wasn't people's first impression of me. I try to put my face as my avatar on everything, hoping that people aren't discriminating against my name when they do research on me, but that they discriminate for my abilities.
