Is it worth the $100+ a month? There may be alternate sources for curling streams where you don't have to pay to be bombarded.

I was on the fence about ditching cable when all I watched was hockey, but I'm glad I did. So now, Rogers loses out on my $2500 a year (tv and internet), and I have more free time as they're not broadcasting games over the air anymore

I'm hoping that the PWHL version of HNIC doesn't have any gambling involvement at all, because kids watch it!

Even if I did have a requirement that SMB saturate a network, I would probably still not want it to be implemented in the kernel.

And they talk in the video about how expensive it is now, because of gallium export restrictions in China, and that people shouldn't be using it because it's not cost effective. Only the most hardcore of overclockers should even do it.

But it was a very informative video regardless.

"hosting GPUs for local llms" meaning pci-express bandwidth and memory bandwidth are not issues for them, and CPU features probably also don't make a difference.

Is a 5090 still cost efficent when it is (currently) unobtainable? Or when obtainable only at current prices (min. $6500 USD)?

My impression is that they ARE good paying jobs, looking at the industry categories listed as having gains.

"Professional, scientific and technical services" alone is 16.6k.

It seems it's quite often that Ubuntu reminds me how much I appreciate Mint dropping everything snap.

Snapshotting before OS upgrade is something that has saved my system more than once. It's not to be underestimated how much time is saved over having to restore from backup or reinstall.

Plus there is sending/receiving snapshots across systems if you want to.

The most recognizable building would be the one their office was set in, which is actually the White Rock Museum & Archives building (a former train station) in White Rock, near the pier.

Is this EU protocol so weak that it cannot withstand this attack, i.e. is duplicate age certificate use not detected or prevented?

I wish this were somehow tagged with AI, so I would know that it's not about say, general computing or cost-efficiency (e.g. using an old xeon machine from ebay instead of new, in these cost-conscious times.)

As it is, the title is click-bait for me, as 1) it says I need at least a Xeon somehow and 2) as it doesn't say what I actually need it for.

ZFS boot+root on Linux is amazing as well. It's kind of sad to see Linux Mint has moved away from supporting this in their installer, but it probably could still be done manually I guess. After upgrade, if something goes wrong? zfs rollback both to a snapshot made just before the upgrade and reboot.

I don't use freebsd full time, only in a VM, but all these things sound positive to me.

It completely blew up for me as well (unbootable) during an update that included the linux-firmware package split from earlier this year. Fortunately this occurred during a testing period in a VM.
