Even in the demo that's supposed to prove why you should want a touchscreen it just seems... trivial. I don't see any reason why that's better than using a mouse/trackpad.

More so the one thing I desperately try to get rid of on my MacBook's screen are smudges. Can't imagine this will make it any better.

In the end maybe I'm just completely disconnected from what regular people want in a MacBook. Maybe this comment will be my "love the ambition and thesis" moment.

Literally the one thing it needed was 120hz. I could somewhat understand that being a "Pro" feature in 2018, but in the big '26 there's no excuse.

AI infrastructure. Regardless, I don't see OpenAI or Anthropic attaching AI generated images to their blog posts.

What in the world would posses the modular team to attach those horrendous AI generated thumbnails to each blog post? It makes it feel cheap, even though I know the project has some really serious technical expertise behind it.

It appears that the audio section where you can preview the different sounds (power on, charging, low battery) are not working for me.

It throws a `Uncaught (in promise) NotSupportedError: The element has no supported sources.` on `audio.play();` at the very end of main.js.

It looks super nice. I really like the name and the design, but as others have said the numbers seem to be a bit of a turn off. It really seems to throw off the visual balance and almost seems like there's a medical reason for it, like it's for people struggling with dyscalculia or something.

Another small thing is that I would love if it was possible to swap the "caps" key for a different labeled one (or unlabeled), since it appears that there already is a caps key on the right-hand side anyways. I personally always bind control key to the caps key (stems from vim/hhkb) and it'd be nice if it was able to configure the keyboard to reflect that.

Despite whether what OpenAI alleges in the blog post is true or not, it's super odd that a company of their size would make a blog post about it.

This looks like a company that's in a downward spiral. They're doing anything they can to attempt to salvage their reputation, maybe because when the court date finally rolls around it might already be too late.

Thanks for checking out the app! Truthfully it simply doesn't make sense to support anything prior to iOS 26 for Plates. It was built entirely around liquid glass, morphing animations, and many iOS 26+ APIs.

Yes, it's actually possible to change it in the settings! It's in Settings -> Apps -> Plates.

It's possible to change the weight and distance units there, as well as the effort metric (rpe/rir/none).

Admittedly I had never heard of this party before, but after looking into them calling them far-right seems to be quite a leap.

If you didn't know, Sweden used to be extremely welcoming to asylum seekers and refugees about a decade ago. What they got out of it were gangs, their youth being exploited to enact crimes (due to leniency towards minors), and neighborhoods that even the police doesn't dare drive through. Having a party that calls for integration and adaption to Swedish values, and at worst remigration, seems rather tame. Especially so if you just take a look across Øresund and see what's happening in Denmark.

Not so far — I'm focusing on building the best iOS experience I can, but if it keeps growing the way it has I could absolutely see it somewhere down the road.

I’m working on: https://omitten.com

It’s a daily word puzzle game based on polysemy.

haha i'll take that as a massive compliment! since today's puzzle is so brutal i thought people would rage quit and never look at it again, so someone caring enough to cheat is awesome. today's stats seem to be at a 24% win rate, so i don't blame you at all.
