This is not that unusual. I also have never had any of these, or any other, streaming services. It's been wonderful.
It was the plainest water imaginable.
There was a time around 2016-2019 where this was possible with Twilio. I went from nothing to sending real SMS messages to real numbers in under an hour.
Then it scaled, became popular, and got ruined.
Post-Covid, SMS abuse went through the roof, they locked it down with legislation and bureaucrazy, and now it's nothing but pain and suffering trying to send SMS. Twilio/Sendgrid used to be fantastic. And now it's a massive sinkhole of your time, money, and sanity. I've not used SNS before, and obviously anything AWS-related has its own unnecessary complexity. But I promise Twilio can't be much better. Feels like they re-write the entire user interface every year just for kicks and giggles. Good luck finding anything, or remember where anything is.
It wasn't oppressive. It was disciplined. I learned more in 3 hours at home than I did my senior year going to public high school for 8 hours a day.
Game-changers for me growing up, that I think my parents did really well: - change the curriculum to match the kid (i.e. learning styles, difficulty, pace) - use the public schools for electives, sports, drama, etc (my siblings took music classes for 1 period each day, we all did school sports still, etc) - have strict (or at least structured) time constraints on homeschooling (i.e. don't let it drag into the whole day; we had to be up, dressed, breakfasted, and ready to start at 9am, and we needed to be done by noon and didn't get lunch until our school work was done).
Happy to share it with you. Using small businesses for credit card testing is one of the most evil things on the Internet, so anything to stop it is worth it.
Jury is still out on which is more trustworthy handling any personal data, Microsoft or Google. Neither.
But reading small white text on black background that's 100% width is nearly impossible to read.
Otherwise, I would have left immediately.
I'm all for speedy, simple, plaintext websites, but it is a negligible amount of work in 2026 to throw some barebones CSS in and make it approachable.
