I see a future where autonomous EVs will drive themselves to charging stations, often in the middle of the night. Tesla will get there first.

Am I interpreting this correctly: can one neuron make 10 connections to the dendrite of a downstream neuron? Can you share a reference article for this?

Google is one of 11 companies (the platinum level sponsors) that committed $5M to Vector. It's not a Google thing.
The researchers are Vector are free to pursue their own interests, and publish their work like any other academic. Their output is not owned by Google or any of the corporate sponsors.

While that may be true for a software engineer the same does not apply to AI talent.
The Vector Institute will offer salaries comparable to top global industrial AI labs. Also the Canadian industry appreciates the value a good data scientist and knows the talent war is global.

I think the reason it's slower for you is that the CPU pipeline is starved for data... even when it is in the same cache line.
Since we are geeking out on binary search on a Saturday night, here's an approach I developed for traversing multiple binary trees in parallel with SIMD instructions, no branches and data prefetching. It's used at Bing to calculate the document score that ranks Web search results, and traverses thousands of Machine Learning derived decision trees. It resulted in a 4x speedup over the naive approach.
