It's very interesting, I've been playing with LoRa radios and planning to take a look at it. It has rather esoteric licensing however. LXST and the sideband chat client are CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 but the main repo looks like a BSD, but with custom clauses:

"""

- The Software shall not be used in any kind of system which includes amongst its functions the ability to purposefully do harm to human beings.

- The Software shall not be used, directly or indirectly, in the creation of an artificial intelligence, machine learning or language model training dataset, including but not limited to any use that contributes to the training or development of such a model or algorithm.

They are specified in the token map as special tokens. Presumably they get trained to use them when they get RL'ed to use tools?

I use it with a local Qwen3.8 27B on llama-server, but I don't know what it means for it exceed any window.

you can use /slots on the llama-server if you want to get more up-to-date details on session token use.

I always run models in their default context, which is 262144 for Qwen3.8 27B. I've run sessions in hax where it hit that cap multiple times and compressed the context down to 15% and continued with no problem.

The blog posts are all attributed to "Lucas Vieira" and the dev group https://faisca.dev that is attributed as the author has 2 other projects. Lucas comes up in LinkedIn and looks like an actual person working in San Francisco.

Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash came out in 1992. I guess the paper back became popular in 2000 though.

"backbone" is what has me hung up, seems more like a scaffold or maybe a bionic exoskeleton.

maybe it's regional? I always thought "Could care less" was in the same class as "irregardless" or "daylight saving time" -- in common use yet technically incorrect

Don't get me wrong, I love `uv` -- I mean as far as being "the backbone of any modern Python library" -- shouldn't any modern python library work with any packing system that follows the PEPs?

they just implement the modern PEPs

in the US you can still buy hydrogen/ammonia/water gas absorption refrigerators such as "EZ Freeze". Propane/Natural Gas refrigerators use this cycle. I'm sure you can get them all over the world, the cycle is older than the one in the article.
