Whatever you put in the glacier the glacier gives back to you. Anything you leave there ends up at the bottom of it in the moraine.

We can’t get parts for my wife’s 7 year old Buick convertible anymore so that’s not really true. We took it to the dealer to get a service done and they broke her fob then messed around for two weeks before declaring that they couldn’t source a replacement. So it depends greatly on the vehicle. If it isn’t an American truck then good luck getting documentation or parts for it. Luckily our regular mechanic actually knows what he’s doing so he’s able to come up with alternatives for things like turbo solenoids. But the OEM parts are always on backorder and are 10x as expensive.

In the same vein all of my results are schools except two so it would be nice to have some filters on keyword.

I agree! These are just miserable places to live. Please reconsider just moving to Arizona or Utah. Leave us to our 10 months of misery a year. :)

That’s a model of addiction as a “habit” with a loss of self-control. But the other definition of addiction is really more like “continued use of the substance is required to eliminate a syndrome which only occurs when use of the substance is reduced or discontinued.” I think the latter model is more useful because there are tons of medications out there where responsibly using them leads to addiction. Even SSRIs could be addictive under that definition.

That’s basically what a Homeowner’s Association is. They can levy fees, prosecute violations of bylaws, and generally do whatever the bylaws say. They have very little oversight.

FWIW if you’re that concerned about scaring other people out of your way you could just wave a gun around out the driver’s side window. You’d spend less money and get your desired effect.

If it’s a Lowes you can get the parts delivered next day. And you’ll know the threads are compatible. Most of the stuff I’ve gotten on Amazon technically fits NPT fittings but it leaks really badly unless you coat it with thread tape because the threads are the incorrect profile.

You’ll have a distinctly different experience buying clothes on there. 95% of the items don’t fit as described, the fabrics are not as pictured. My wife has a whole box of clothing returns she has to do for some shopping she did before a trip. Almost none of it was as-advertised. And Amazon will “lose” at least two or three items and claw back the refund a few times like they have every year, necessitating she call once a month for 3 or 4 months until she gets someone empowered to fix the problem permanently.

Sadly it’s still a better experience for her than shopping in-person because at least 5% of the items do fit versus nothing in-store. You used to be able to alter that stuff but the cheapness of the fabric and the intricacy of the “on-trend” design makes that impossible these days.

I’m not sure why you’d lump that together here? Motivations and context and the actual facts of a particular situation matter. Nobody has said “no group can ever use their power” which is what you’re hearing. People have said “certain uses of power are morally wrong” which is why the specifics matter.

Your assertion that we’ll somehow get brand new human culture from something that isn’t human might be a little shaky too.

> Must be a strange anonymous life.

This perfectly characterizes most embedded systems work. Competent software development using bespoke or off the shelf components that are not mainstream. Nobody ever realizes they’re using your computer software if you’ve done your job right. One day someone throws your appliance away because it’s obsolete.
