If there's one thing I'd impart on a kid is how to lose, and lose early, and to keep trying after losing. Resiliency. Chances are, if they are my kid they would not be the best nor the brightest. So I'd love to impart onto them the spirit of and satisfaction of hard work and the importance of persistence in any endeavour.

This is like watching trailers about a movie before going to the movie. Letting it wreck your wonderment. If you've never played OOT I suggest you just take it in on its own merit. Then go back and look at this. Let it surprise you. We don't do this enough.

Also, it's almost an open secret that the the Nintendo development teams weren't really thinking in terms of a coherent timeline until later when they published some book mainly because they saw an opportunity to make money and sell merch to a bunch of nerds rather than to truly give a history to a bunch of somewhat related but fairly disjointed games all from the same franchise. They only pretend there's a timeline cause it sells games and books. Not cause there really is. What's worse is that the Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom games really throw a wrench in the works.

TLDR: enjoy these games on their own merit and know that only few titles are meant to be really connected in some way. Like Ocarina of Time <-> Majora's Mask and/or Breath of the Wild <-> Tears of the Kingdom . As for the rest there's slight references to each other but not really much linking them.

GOOD!

I’ve been blacklisting AI slop channels on my feed. I don’t want to reward this content either views.

Yahoo was pretty good until they removed comments from their posts as well as removing Yahoo Answers.

I loved the chaos of Yahoo answers.

I remember messed up questions like “Can humans get preggo from midgets” and things of that nature.

Practically speaking, as a fat guy who sweats from the top of his head a lot, and especially in warmer climates, the idea of having this bulky thing on my head for a large part of the day, is an instant dealbreaker already. I've tried them a couple of times and they just f cking warm my head immediately. Maybe if they built a cooling mechanism that would help.

But then on top of that you add the expensive cost of the headset, the battery issue, the limited mobility, not being able to go to c0rn sites without Meta being all up in my b'ness, etc. etc. etc.

There is like, zero upside to this thing. None. Zilch.

At least the smartphone was easy to adopt en masse cause it combined a music player, mini browser, portability, GPS, game machine and all in a nice portable package that, at worst, just takes up more space in your pants pocket.

But if they can ever invent hardware that doesn't sit on one's head or rest on top of your ears (which also chafes on a hot day), then this thing could really start to get some traction cause much of the friction (figuratively speaking) would be removed. Meta glasses are a step in the right direction but they're not very immersive.
