Gimmicky? Within our lifetime it will be a common safety feature like airbags. Can you imagine how many terrible accidents can be avoided if the car can fly out of a bad situation? Doesn't need to fly long distance. Engage your imagination and you'll think of many use cases.

And it begins. I can't wait to hear all the ways people will poo poo this incredible tech tomorrow.

I've been using Grok Bot and it has become an essential tool in my production. Contrary to AI making people less intelligent, I feel like a midwit working with 180+ IQ geniuses, and it has really been pushing my limits. Granted, the bots can be "idiot savants" at times, but I'm constantly bowled over by how smart they are and how smartly they work together.

One of the few things this administration has done that I actually applaud. These huge corporations have been abusing the Greencard and H1B system for decades, and it has gotten so out of control that people are really starting to notice. This is the kind of thing that can cause serious civil unrest, and justifiably so.

The problem is, no matter how carefully the regulations are worded, dirty lawyers will figure out how to work around them. Suspending the programs is probably the only fix at this point.

That's on the prompt, not the AI. You could be specific about what imagery to use like a torii or a Japanese castle, and so on. Whatever you leave to the AI you're most likely going to get the most generic version. If you're low effort in the prompt yet get low effort results, if you put some effort into the prompt you can get better results.

This is like saying campfires raise nearby temperatures by up to 700°F – 900°F (370°C – 480°C) or so. We need to heavily regulate or even ban camping.

Growing pains of being successful. These are solvable problems and will be. Can they maintain their momentum without pissing off too much of their customer base before these issues are resolved?

It is not an uncommon view among scholars that humidity and age caused more papyri to be lost than the burning down of the library of Alexandria did. Many of which would have survived by being repeatedly copied and disseminated throughout the region.

Yes, AI is getting better at finding exploits and cracking software, but it will also get just as adept at defense. It will all escalate, but mostly maintain parity.

This is the case at every company I've worked at. When the CEO says jump, the response is to jump or pack your stuff. What's special about xAI/Tesla/SpaceX?

What a nightmare fueled vision of the future. It probably underestimates just how bad it will be. Well done.

Conspiracy theorists have long pointed out the obviously drilled holes in stonework that was >5000 years old. Of course they want to attribute it to lost advanced technology, but the more believable answer is that ancient Egyptians had really refined mundane tools like a bow drill.

I still want to know how the scoop marks were made in the ancient quarries. What tool could do that?

Polls aren't the end all be all of truth, and can be gamed. They are not a perfect measure, by a long shot.

While Wikipedia is terribly inaccurate and heavily biased, it can be a useful starting point for information on a topic. You have to take advantage of the links to other sources on the page, which often have a different conclusion than what is presented in the article!
