I had a pirated copy of Below The Root as a kid on my Apple IIc... except the small town copy network had made a bad copy. So it'd only play some of the time if i was lucky. I'm going to dive into this

Ha. I did something similar but made a Jeopardy judge for my family to play jeo-paw-dy hosted by the family dog. It uses our phones as buzzers and speech to text to let people just speak the answer

us-east-1 was blowing up a bit tonight with ec-2. Maybe it's related.

The uncanny valley cheers is really freaking me out.

Also agreed, my work prohibits App Store apps so i have to skip things like this.

Same here. I’m sorry for your loss and may her memory be a blessing.

If you need someone to talk to I’m here.

Oh nice. I remember miss bellows falls from growing up!

How do you handle kids w/ a learning disability who can't effectively write well?

An open source campaign management app for TTRPGs. There are a ton out there, that are basically just fancy wikis. I'm working on one in Django for running my old school D&D game i'm starting back up this fall.

In my last week of funemployment before going back to work. I’m working on fun stuff like gardening, designing battle tech terrain in cad and building a web tool for solo roleplaying.

Nice to do something just for myself

The amount of Boston in this comment is amazing. And 100% true

Jordan Peterson too. Putting Chomsky in the same sentence as those two is just insulting

This is great. I’m middle aged and I’ve definitely noticed my eyesight needs more and more help in the contrast dept

Interesting! Explains that even though I've used a laptop since 1992 to do school work because of my learning disabilities(Dysgraphia, mid-line problems, poor fine motor control) I still prefer to hand write my notes. Even if I never read them I noticed that just the act of doing them helps me remember things. I might not remember the source but I can remember the act of note taking. I've noticed the same thing with reading as well.

I remember going in for a physical Jan 2020 and my doctor talking about lot about the flu. He gave me the pneumonia vaccine and then was like oh there is this other thing but probably nothing to worry about…
