I’d argue government investments are extremely exposed!

Consider that the majority of Americans do in-fact vote. In doing so, they literally delegate the power of the purse to the representative was most supported in their local community.

Look at the work put into ‘communication’ about those budgets also. In addition to having comptrollers to monitor the auditors or whatever.

The UK Expenses Scandal was funny, but Thatcherism is still doing too much residual harm to laugh about.

Promising x and doing y is a winner-takes-all democracy problem. Coalition governments solve this by sexing-up y as the natural outcome of the public vote. This also makes technocracy easier / more normalized.

You look like an animal that couldn’t do the courtship ritual for communication. Not even language, but like squeels or tails or smells.

You’ve got to read the room!

OpenAI started the corporate espionage/ data theft game though; new hires from competing firms like Apple were required to share dumps of internal things, share notebooks with a hack so they won’t lock / encrypt, etc.

Big-tech is throwing shade atm.

See also: ‘the thing’ (listening device) that some soviet kids gifted to the US ambassador.

The first passive device device of it’s kind (эндовибраторы), it operated only when powered by an external RF source, meaning OpenAI wouldn’t have found the bug. Just like US intelligence didn’t with ‘the thing’

He should’ve watched to Gamer Nexus video on LG tv’s, and how many TV’s are remote exploitable often without user intervention.

Nice!

Chromium on iOS can also be compiled with blink, using the ‘use_blink’ flag.

iOS ain’t preventing that.

Check out Blink Chrome on iOS on Agelia developer Gyuyoung’s Weblog: https://blogs.igalia.com/gyuyoung/2024/08/08/chrome-ios-brow...

The Google has documented how to compile your own build. Note the ‘building blink for iOS’ section.

It’s as easy as adding ‘use_blink = true’ to ‘ [gn_args]’ in your ‘.setup-gn’: https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+/main/docs/i...

You can also do that on iOS? You just need to sign the iOS app with e.g. your Apple account.

EU users can also add alternative app stores to their iOS device, e.g. Epic Games Store, AltStore, or some corn app.

Tbf, Apple does in fact keep their ‘Apple OSS Distributions’ GitHub current.

This is the TiVo situation. Does open-source require allowing third parties to install their own software / OS and have unlimited control over the device? (GPL v3)

Or does it regard to access to the source code but not access to the device? (GPL v2)

TV’s, routers, IoT, etc vendors aren’t even allowed to ship devices with user-alterable software!
