Is it possible that individuals or groups use outsourcing as a way to funnel money into their private interests? IMO we're looking at good old corruption.

It's like Scala and Spring Boot had a baby and the baby was in typescript. Super solid project great engineers.

I don't think LLMs are much better at react. I've migrated two apps from next to sveltekit and it was a breeze using codex.

Finally got to Dostoevsky's Brother Karamazov. This will take a while.

This is actually a lot of fun.

Oh excellent! Once I get a bit of time I will try hooking NAM A2-l to a controller and then putting THAT inside of one of my old drive pedals for style.

It’s the whole business for the installers. You get margin where you can, and that for them is in the marketing and selling and installing and supporting for the customers.

I love the line that Chin wants to influence Canada on the same day as US puts demands for having controls over Canadian trade deals.

LLMs are an automated Indian dev-shop. That’s all. The code is poorly thought out, poorly implemented and doesn’t take performance into account. But the code works and you got it for cheap. That’s my mental model and I’m happy with it

The big ones for me are the actor processes sending each other messages, distributed processes where you can connect several nodes to each other very seamlessly and the processes within them communicate seemlessly! I’m not looking to rebuild OTP, I’m simply exploring ideas I couldn’t before

I built a screen recorder for myself with LLMs. A calorie tracker. Now building this everything-webframework in Odin that's inspired heavily by BEAM's ideas (its a creative process for me, I don't have an end goal in mind)

Reminds me - I was working for a Canadian network equipment manufacturer and at one point a client in Asia was trying to get support for a bunch of units of uor hardware (modems). Long story short, turns out they bought knock offs that didn't even bother changing casing leaving contact info on modems for our company.

They are making more money than ever before. Maybe Meta leadership doesn’t really care about having a coherent strategy at this point. They can afford to flail around to see if something sticks. Reminds me of Rich kids who have ability to travel the world and find themselves before settling into a career

You'd be surprised. Every software application has bugs. If customers are willing to give you money despite bugs that's a very string signal in favour of your product.

That's a problem for you — the customer - not for Jeff, the VP.
