I don’t understand you just say it was about finding factors, okay yeah that determines whether a number is prime. You’re not telling me anything I don’t know, I just disagree with your stance.

It’s funny, but you’d figure as sophisticated as the manufacturering standards are they could give an exact number. Or couldn’t they?

That’s just what the mainstream media wants us to think.

Mods book this guy he’s being mean to me.

I was just thinking about Micheal Lewis being for tech bros what Joan Didon was for hippies. Most of the time people are remembered for their era and not themselves.

Ok then break all cryptography with that. It just proves my point you can SAY you can do it but in practice you can’t.

I’d argue that you’re just misunderstanding what makes a number prime. You can literally never be 100% sure a randomly generated number is or isn’t prime, it’s just the way numbers work.

If you just make up a number claim it’s prime and nobody disputes it, it’s prime apparently. I don’t think it’s really possible to have a very large prime number, because unless someone has tried every factor it’s really not prime yet, honestly that explains a lot about the elusiveness of the concept.

I know this will be perceived as “mean” or “bad discussion” but based on your comment history you truly have an unhealthy obsession with Elon Musk and that fact really scares me because on this site your vote equals ten of mine because you post all the time.

Why are you calling me stupid then just pointing to a story of you and your friends. WTF THE FUCK MODERATORS DO SOMETHING.

I think the opposite, we need more raw labor aimed at replicating scientific results. Today our institutions are so tiny they can hardly afford what few projects are funded to completion.

Goes to show you that a simple UX is really all you need for this type of thing if you have a lot of users. To me instagram was already better then twitter, so now I have twitter without twitter.
