I have been wanting to read it. Is this the translation/interpretation I should start with?

We can then introduce gorillas to control the lions. Nothing can possibly go wrong!

> far as I can tell, experiments show that Fable has basically memorized every lat/long position on the map of the earth … your standing in the ocean or not based on your coordinates

Memorising a small shape file of the earth’s continents can allow you to determine if a person is on land or in water.

Not sure why you are downvoted. Gaming communities absolutely erupt when using AI for building games is mentioned.

> Weights are source in language models.

Weights are source in the same way as any x86 binary is source.

You easily modify a x86 binary and change behaviour or examine the machine code instructions. You probably are not aware how easy it is to change the behaviour of a binary executable.

Any idea how well this would run on a CPU?

Have you see the price for Flash? Keeps going up. Flash 2.5 was a sweet spot.

My high school English teachers would not agree with me, but there is a line where “need” becomes “hobby” (short of a career in English Lit).

I have enjoyed reading Canterbury Tales but have little to no ability to parse Beowulf.

I don’t know where that line is, but pre-Shakespeare is at the least diminishing returns.

Bleak House’s opening paragraph

> … As much mud in the streets as if the waters had but newly retired from the face of the earth, would not be wonderful to meet a Megalosaurus, forty feet long or so, waddling like an elephantine lizard up Holborn Hill.

A completely functional high earning English-speaking software developer might easily find the above sentence hard to parse.

I find old school sitcoms hard to enjoy, probably because I am missing a lot of subtle cultural context. It doesn’t imply my comprehension skills are poor.

I had an office in one of these buildings. I agree it’s gaslighting. In this specific instance the solution was to block most of the window and work in the dark. Every office was a concrete cave with inadequate lighting.

The upside was that the design didn’t allow it to go open plan.
