More likely they are regular cops participating in some joint task force. There are more state, county, and local police agencies in this country than there are FBI Special Agents.

It's neat that I can now put an OCP NIC in a bog-standard server from the major players but I'm not sure that makes up for how everything else OCP becomes e-waste much faster than regular EIA-310 gear.

> Apple pings me, yet again, about my three complimentary months of Apple Music.

This one drives me mad. I don't directly interact with the Music app on my phone very often so it feels like I have to dismiss that ad every damned time.

Hagibis makes one that isn't a bare PCB. B0GLFGTLW9 on Amazon.com, for me today it's showing $6.99 for a 2-pack.

Some time this year the McDonald's iOS app started demanding that I let it track my location at all times in order for it to keep me signed in.

No thanks.

Glad it's working out for you. My partner's brother had been trying to do the same and it has completely changed him for the worse. Blown up his job, marriage, relationship with his young children, and he's damned fortunate that his siblings were raised better than me 'cause if it were my brother we'd be done already.

Adderall had always worked fine for him but we're living in a world where it's exceedingly difficult to keep a Schedule II drug prescription active and fulfilled.

> While I'm bitching, what is the deal with keyboards on new laptops needing special drivers?

The only laptops I've encountered with this are... Microsoft's. Somehow the Surface folks can't get enough of their critical drivers in-box with Windows to be able to re-install from stock media.

(IIRC it goes even deeper with USB drivers missing, but I gave up on Surface Laptops a few year ago)

My chicken tending has fallen to barely break-even on an EBIDTA basis.

I don't know any of the players but I'd bet they're licensed amateur radio operators.

I'm not buying another Kindle until there's a successor to the Voyage's "Limited Edition Premium Leather Origami Cover." If a competitor wants to lure me over, that is the way.

For a moment, a Matrox G400 DualHead was THE card to have for a multi-monitor setup.

Where's the A310 / A40 successor? Gimme some SR-IOV in a slot-powered, single-width, low-profile card.

> It's almost never about directly handing money to a politician. That's illegal

According to SCOTUS in Snyder v. United States, if the payment occurs after the official act, it's a perfectly legal "gratuity."

For Americans, QVC and Target regularly have the BLU Flex or TCL Flip 3 bundled with a year of Tracfone service for $50 or less.
