Just pointing out that congress has a lot of attorneys, and the OP was complaining about all the pro-attorney legislation.

Don't know why you think there's not correlation.

That's because 47% of the Senate are attorneys/former practicing attorneys. Need more ex-Scientists in office. :)

anyone else been trying the new Siri AI intelligence on their phone and been underwhelmed? It's really slow, no longer gets adding grocery items to the right lists, etc. Did I mention how slow it is to inject an LLM turn on everything? Hopefully they'll fix all that by the time it's out of beta... But it's so rough to me that it's really ruined the experience of the device. Apples voice-to-text still isn't good compared the what I used to have on my Android phone pre-2024, when I switched to Apple ecosystem....

I'm curious how they settled on the square shape, instead of a traditional photo frame shape. I know they're differentiating. But If I were to replace my Aura frames (we have several), I'd want a different aspect ratio.

Maybe i just need a $300 iPad Mini....

A clickable TUI is contrarian to why I use most CLI tools. Neat that they could build this, though, because it suits their needs.

I'm fine with K9s and lazygit key-driven interfaces.

I guess one thing that's good about a clickable TUI is that maybe it's easier to approach for some, wihtout releasing yet another memory hog Electron App?

This would actually probably be acceptable to me if they multilaterally applied it across all tech companies, not just the ones who don't kiss Trump's butt.

I don't ming a "ASK HN: What's your AI Setup", and then sifting through the 100s of comments on what people are doing. Then I'd scrape all that into my LLM WIKI and start digesting.....

I use almost zero MCP servers. I do vibe a bunch of custom CLI tools with minimal access to do the things that support my workflows. Been happily integrating with all-the-things, while my companies MCP server connectivity changes daily based on security posture and firewall configs, etc....

wasn't the original ruby on rails demonstrating how to create a blog? I think it was a call back to that 2004 era....

We should go back to petstore examples.

I vibed most of it (and though I like the code that was output, I coached it with some custom skills). If I were to share it out, I'd probably clean up some of the tools to make their interfaces smaller and cleaner. And make the docs a lot simpler. I'd probably also create some form of dashboard so you can see what's happening (all the docs scraped and saved), etc.

EDIT: it's also the type of thing that feels very personally customized for my needs. I encourage you to build something similar on the idea. Much like how Karpathy Wiki was suggestive and not a runtime to just use...

Yeup, as I mentioned, it kind of feels like a Yak-shave....but it was fun building it, and gave me some experience with agentic coding and new technologies I don't normally work with. It's nice to dig into for some research.

The biggest win was the realization that both firefox and chrome maintain all the links you visit in a very queryable SQLite database. I've been poking at that for a lot of custom tools, like WHAT JIRA tickets am I paying attention to this week, etc....

I don't know, our backlog of refactoring, before AI, never really happened either.

I've yet to work at a place that bothered with much refactoring over adding the thirtieth conditional to new feature....
