Make youtube for hackers, that does not suck, or you're going to jail.

Well, this had many layers to it. Small municipality wants the tax money. The municipality's inspector is/was being fired for talking to the press. Google's own regional director played hide and seek with the press. It's not like there's more pressing matters than a giant local datacenter being built. And once he spoke and gave a nonpology, basically lying. The biggest media outlet Helsingin Sanomat put it succinctly: so much intelligence, but none of it was used. All they (Google) had to do was google it, the information of necessary filings are clear. We Finns like to do things by the book. Here corners were obviously deliberately cut. Nobody is crying out for the actual forest loss (though it's not nothing either). It's the principal of having multinational corpos come and suck up the land and resources, and play by their own rules. Our current economy is shit. In the big picture, this whole charade was not a good look on anyone. But it is what it is.

Whenever LostPass, I mean LastPass is mentioned, it makes me feel twitchy and reminds me of that time I made a really bad tech decision of using it.

LastPass is not a secure place to store your passwords. Bitwarden is the second worst place. Don't just take my word for it, do your own research.

Yes, get out already if ypu haven't, this ship has already sank a long time ago. I'm a paying happy 1password customer myself, but you could explore how keepass fits your workflow.

I find it more likely we nuke ourselves with this ratrace to the bottom, than having to worry about supernovas. And what's more I don't buy into this kind of megalomaniac self-serving narrative, that smells of an easy way of enforcing one's broken ideals over others. Happening with AI a lot lately.

Wow. You can make your own conclusions, but my money is not exactly going to flow into DigitalOcean's pocket in the near future.

For context? Idk, I do it all the time... that is not because it's LLM, but because i'm wired that way. I tend to think out aloud.

Would you like to know more? Seriously though, of course, it's tuned for maximum engagement, not maximum efficiency. I wonder how long this engagement dopamine circus can last... too long apparently.

Which accounts to approximately 8.02% of the global population. Or 37.9% of world nominal GDP. Based on ChatGPT.

Omg, that hit hard. We really need more of this.

Also it was very disorienting especially after making into the circular hole thingy, hard to know which way to aim, some small sign which is the right way would be nice, other than that, quite nice.

Can someone explain where are we at the image processing world/timeline? Why do coding tools suggest to me .avif and .webp, and the support of these lags in Windows OS and then we have things like JpegXL and Jpeg2000 or whatever others are there flying around? Why is it so hard to find our next "jpg format"?
