Is there also a comparison with innodb with compressed tables (Storage size/speed/cpu load/mem usage )? (I assume at least some of the benefit in storage/performance may be due to the compression being on by default)

> 3-phase charging (which I admit has always seemed like a silly feature

Well, 3phase is more efficient as you have less losses in the cabling.

May save you 5-10% on the bill.

Limiting factor appears to be distribution network capacity. Probably also production capacity.

Where I live many requested powergrid connections are put on hold permanently due to lack of capacity.

Which (obviously) already exists (google it). I haven't ever seen one in actual use however.

I'm not sure I agree. Seems to me to depend a lot on how one interacts with an LLM.

If you tell it to "build me an application X to do Y using programming language Z", it will comply.

If you interactively ask "I need X, can you suggest some options? use an existing product ? or build something using a library ? or build entirely myself ? can you suggest alternatives with pro's and con's ? Anything I should think of before deciding ?" then you will get an entirely different answer.

Maybe we need additional modes, aside from thinking mode, agentic mode etc. we need e.g. "sparring mode" ? or does such a thing already exist ?

With all these agents finding ways to break out of their sandbox, I'm looking forward to the first report of an agent breaking out using RFC 1149.

I looked at fossil a long time ago and liked it a lot, but settled on git as it's more "standard". I guess I will have to take a look at fossil again.

Off-topic, but I kinda like the style sheet of this article.

looks nice but seems to be rather expensive

Reminds me of this old joke.

A Soviet citizen and an American are sitting next to each other on a commercial flight.

The American turns to the Russian and says, "I have to hand it to you — your state propaganda is very impressive. You really know how to shape what people think."

The Soviet smiles, nods, and replies, "Thank you, but it's really nothing compared to American propaganda."

The American looks shocked and says, "What are you talking about? We don't have any propaganda in America."

The Soviet smiles again and says, "Exactly"

same is true for writing code : in order to get better at writing code, reading other people's code can help a lot.

Indeed, it's mentioned in the article: "The measure is an environmental protection requirement to avoid discharging too much hot water into rivers already warming from the heatwave."

France (and to a lesser extent large parts of europe) is currently suffering from an exceptional heat wave.
