I think the headline of this article should be considered in the context it's presented, namely the context where I've seen several variations on the same headline "Bees added to US endangered species list for the first time" shared dozens of times across social media. Personally, I find that headline to be much more infuriating than this articles.

> Files currently loaded by the Windows kernel and files not > writable by users in the Administrator user group in Windows > will not be deleted

Based on that sentence, I assumed the command was being executed by a user in the Administrator group

I see the writer has used '--no-preserve-root' when deleting /mnt/c - does anybody know if that's necessary?

It would be an interesting (and probably good enough) safety net if they treated /mnt/c the same as / in this case.

It does, because they can't retrieve the keys from memory otherwise - Unlocking the bootloader is essentially opening the phone up to malicious code execution by anyone with physical access.

The bootloader is locked by default on most (maybe all?) android phones, so unless the user has explicitly unlocked it, they'll be safe

I can only imagine this is an error, but apparently Brevard County, FL has received at least 61 helicopters... 8 of them worth $18m a piece.

Someone tell me this is misreported? There is no way a county of ~500k people could need 61 helicopters, rght?
