I worked at an HFT firm and initially they were focusing on hiring people like MIT grads and programming competition winners. But eventually they realized their social skills were often not the best and went for a more well-rounded candidate.

I worked at another firm in the finance space that hired a PhD with poor social skills who had to be let go because he would try to aggressively “checkmate” other people by proving them wrong and say that they were dumb. It got so bad that other people refused to be in meetings with him.

If someone works at the airport and is screaming at people with limited English proficiency who rarely fly, that is the fault of the rude employee. They should get a different job.

It’s a customer facing role where the main responsibility is directing confused and anxious people.

Wow, I had read his book but had no idea that he was so influential pushing efforts to remove separated bike lanes in California.

How is this better than the official NYC 311 app?

I am assuming that maybe except for some TLC vehicles reporting won’t change anything. Do you have a different experience?

I could probably report 20 vehicles a week on a 2 block stretch of road.

What do you mean? You can use Linux on a Chromebook just fine if the user is an adult but if the user is a child there is some Chromebook restriction?

If you cook with extra virgin olive oil, having the pan temperature reach the Leidenfrost effect will lead to the oil smoking.

When I went to my most recent doctor’s appointment they told me that I needed to sign on the signature pad that I agreed to be treated.

I asked to see the agreement I’m signing and they lied to me and said it’s something I’ve already agreed to even though the last updated date on the document was after my last visit.

Then they said that if I wanted to actually read what I’m signing that it could delay being seen by the provider and made a big deal about trying to find the paper.

Eventually I was able to find the full documents I was agreeing to in MyChart and it wasn’t just that I was okay with being treated.

Students would just connect to their own hotspot and not have any restrictions.

Was this Cigna? Same thing happened to me in SF in the same timeframe.

It took 5 times of me calling and explaining that they can’t charge it as out of network before they adjusted it.

You are using Fable as an executive coach for you? I’d be curious to learn more.
