It's not protected by the index finger at all. There is no fingerprint reader in a Yubikey. The only protection is that it requires physical access and can't be triggered from software.

I don't know if this is vibe-coded or something, but it works very badly.

I tried to change the currency from USD to EUR. The filter dialogue didn't work, clicking it only focused the text field for a few milliseconds and I couldn't get a single character typed.

Then I closed the settings, and the whole app froze until I had to force-quit it. Uninstalled already, not a good first impression at all.

Darkbloom is already doing that today (darkbloom.ai)

And so are developers on Linux. 99.5% of your backend stuff will run just fine on macOS without any modification, but it's been a good practice for a long time now to run stuff in containers (Docker/OrbStack/podman/etc.) in order to have a reproducible environment free of contamination. My development process in macOS is basically no different than it was on Linux.

Techradar complaining about Ads while it's showing three different full-screen popups while trying to just read the first paragraph of the article is certainly a choice

It kind of froze my Mac Studio M2 Ultra, but I was able to still move the mouse and force-quit Safari using Command+Q. Once I did, everything immediately went back to normal.

This seems to be a common theme with these "European sovereign AI" companies. Mostly built on top of other open source work and slightly adjusted, often to collect grant money (although I'm not sure about that last part in this case).

If it burns more fuel, how is it "about as efficient"? That doesn't seem to make much sense to me.

> New research found that aviation biofuel made from coconut oil can power a small jet engine about as efficiently as traditional jet fuel, with lower unburned hydrocarbon emissions, though the blends burn more fuel and emit slightly more carbon monoxide.

Looks great, but sadly no fingerprint sensor is a deal breaker for me. I know it's not actually possible, so not your fault, but it's not for me. I rely on that thing way too much.

Cool idea, but having to switch between select and wire makes this incredibly tedious to use. Just use wire mode from dragging from a connection and let people draw "away" a wire from a connection and let go to delete it? Would be much more intuitive imo.

Ask Claude whether a man can be a woman. No matter what political side you're on, models are censored. I'd argue American models are a lot more censored/biased on a lot more topics, and especially on things that come up a lot more than some highly specific Chinese politics. Claude even refuses to translate song lyrics because of copyright.. I wish we could simply have uncensored models from all sides, but it's pretty clear that's not happening right now.

Honestly, I think that's a good thing. A lot of questions were either duplicates of existing questions, or close derivatives of them. If I had to guess, probably 90% of SO questions already had a solution somewhere on SO. AI surfaces these solutions much quicker, so you don't have to ask. Novel questions or bugs that can't be answered or fixed by AI still get asked, and mods have less spam to deal with. I fail to see the issue here.

Wasn't the entire goal of Ladybird to have an open and independent browser engine? Making it effectively closed to contributions makes it.. Not independent anymore. It's now dependent, on few people who work on it, just like any other closed-source or corporate-controlled browser.

Alternatively, you could try compiling an Xcode project. That should do the trick as well.

This is common practice in many countries, although I don't quite understand why
