They're still getting their $100-$200, why would they go and intentionally burn more tokens at their own expense?

By the time this model is available for public use I'd imagine it won't be #1 anymore, which is pretty sad. Even when Google gets back on the ball they seem to find a way to fuck it up.

There's just not really any features in an open-source harness that blow my mind enough to move off the highly-subsidized claude code subscription. I type in instructions and it spits out code. I'm increasingly of the opinion that the more complex features being floated are productivity theater.

I don't know if I'm missing the point, but Genie 4 almost looks worse than Genie 3 in terms of player control? It doesn't even seem to respond to inputs, it just looks like they took some AI generated videos and put the key widgets on top.

Pretty big, but remember that offering a buyout to 1/4 of their employees doesn't mean they're looking to get rid of that many! Not everyone's going to take the buyout, and they're not expecting them to. Their target is likely much lower.

Do you really think that the developers in charge of maintaining the client have absolutely anything to do with 'more, better and cheaper games'?

How are you twisting more efficient software into a bad thing?

I agree that it shouldn't be default, but I'm wondering why you think it shouldn't exist _at all_. The daemon mode for emacs, for instance, is incredibly useful for speeding up startup time and persisting things between windows. It's probably very similar here.

Why is every anti-Carney post on here from an account created an hour ago with a keyboard-mashed username?

A maybe not-so-silver lining is that the major consumers of Chromebooks (schools, mostly) probably won't see their hardware survive that long.

I'm fairly sure that the total economic value that we get out of roads far exceeds the cost it takes to create and maintain them, yes. A similar argument can probably be made for justice systems and armies.

If a power generation system costs more to operate than the value of power we get out of it, it's probably not very useful. I think that's what we're talking about here.

In my personal experience I currently get a lot, lot more usage on the 5x Claude plan than the 5x Codex plan.

Having limitless webUI ChatGPT usage is much better user experience, though. I'll give them that.

(edit: Sol-6 is half the price, so maybe the usage limits are going to be way better.)

I just can't understand why you'd let an LLM write your README. The code, the implementation? Sure! That's the purpose of a coding agent.

The README, though? That's the first thing I read about your project. Anybody familiar with LLMs is going to pick up that one wrote it in an instant. Surely you understand your own project well enough to write it in your own words, right? If not, what's even the purpose of the project in the first place?

Someone should really invent some sort of system to prevent any one node from knowing a user's traffic. You know, like layers. Reminds me of a vegetable. We can call it the artichoke network, maybe?

This might be the most shameless GPT wrapper yet.
