I agree that removing the container would be better on resources.

However, most self-hosted software is already "pre-packaged" in Docker containers. It's much easier to grab that "off-the-shelf" than have to build out something custom.

Pretty interesting take on a finance app! I like the inbox and filters on transactions. I'm not sure I understand the benefit of storing it all in the browser though. Does the data just live in the browser? Does anything store on a server?

For anyone that used Evernote as a "Document Storage" app instead of just purely notes, I found Notebooks, https://www.notebooksapp.com/, https://www.notebooksapp.com/ to be a good replacement.

It works with files on your harddrive and your existing cloud storage (icloud / dropbox.) macOS/iOS only, but for someone who primarily is storing PDFs this was a much better fit than more alternates that are for taking notes.

I have the same experience. Skul works great on the Deck. I initially didn't even try it until I saw a comment from someone telling me it works. The "Unsupported" tag is intimidating. Now I'll test out even the Unsupported ones.

Exactly. I subscribe to the hacker newsletter which gives me a digest of the highlights once a week. Rarely hit the homepage on my own anymore, but I do browse some of the topics once a week when I read that newsletter.

According to their article it sounds like you should be receiving updates. I'm not sure if that was different during Loki though.

> Due to the rolling nature of elementary OS updates, users of elementary OS 5 Juno get the update to 5.1 Hera alongside regular system updates from AppCenter.

They do a simple count of items you have against what's on the receipt. If the count is off, I may have left something at the register. As well, if I have something large they offer assistance to get it loaded. I have no issues with this check and find it helpful.

I could never find anything actionable in NewRelic. Seems like interesting data, but nothing I could optimize for. Skylight has identified slow performing areas where we've worked on and watched a downward trend.

I assume he means that you should always set a password for "root". Though most users don't even knows it exists.. hence it should have been taken care of by apple.

Windows 7 has been on the market since 2009 while High Sierra has been out since June of this year. I feel like we're not comparing apples to apples here.. I'm sure both companies are releasing security fixes consistently and Win7 has clearly had more of them in 8 years.

I have so far been unimpressed with GLUE.

FWIW, I'm also baffled that this is a problem to solve.
