same for believing that 5x to 10x number. Funny enough I posted a comment yesterday saying "citation needed" and got a freaking email from an LLM this morning giving me a source that said there's less than a 20% gain, and that was only one study. I actually laughed out loud because of how hilarious it was. Person on the internet makes a ridiculous claim about LLMs and then I get an email hours later from an LLM telling me that the user was full of shit.

The highest “intelligence” models can’t even handle basic tasks right now. Saying that only “corporate strategy” and “major decisions” will need those models is laughable.

awesome. thank you for the detailed reply!

not trying to mess with you, the code signing one makes sense to me, but what do you mean by 'apps connecting to their own home services'? and document signing? like DocuSign? how would an OV cert help there?

dealing with this at work now, can you explain the situations in which you _should_ use OV/EV certificates? from my perspective they seem quite useless, even the NSA uses DV, but I don't know enough to actually say that. It seems like there are regulations which might make it required, but I also cannot find any link to anyone talking about what regulations those might be. Just that... "there are regulations"

The article is satire…

You had to use an LLM to figure out an article was extremely obvious satire… society is doomed.

There’s none of those details because it’s an AI written article. It doesn’t even talk about the stuff it says it’s going to in the very first paragraph.

I thought the same thing. Maybe they can restrict it so that you can’t run the same text through multiple times with only one word differences. At least from an IP perspective that would start to get really expensive to rotate through IPs to get around a block like that.

This logic makes no sense. If 90% of a software engineers job is not coding, then the valuable part of their job isn’t coding. It’s the other things. Else junior devs or interns would be doing all that work.

So no, they aren’t interchangeable with the office receptionist, else the office receptionist would already be doing that job.

I feel like this story just supports the claim that coding isn’t the hard part. Collecting those requirements is harder.

Please do provide your sources on the golf course stat you quoted.

Supposedly, yes, but other studies have shown that teflon pans continue to off gas after construction for a long time so it’s not just PTFE you have to worry about, but PFOA as well. And in addition, purchasing Teflon pans increases the amount of these chemicals making it into the soil and water streams so it doesn’t really matter how inert they are when they make it into your food, since you’re consuming them other ways and also destroying the environment at the same time!
