I'm glad you had a lot of fun and I think it looks like a neat project.

I think that there is certainly room for people to develop software because it makes them happy.

I will take a look at it at some point- Thanks.

Have you been able to handle drag-and-drop?

That's one of the places that I think Linux desktops have traditionally had a lot of difficulty, particularly compared to Macos 9, because you're dragging and dropping complex objects across multiple tool kits, etc..

That's a very nice looking app - I like the look of it it gives me Mail.app vibes.

A mail client is always a tough thing to get right so I'm glad you're working on one

I love then idea that as the total cost (time/money/attention) of personalizing software continues to come down, more people will be able to encourage a diaspora of options, tailored to each niche.

Apple Intelligence, for better or worse, runs on every Apple silicon Mac. Any machine which can run macOs 27 can run the local models. Some machines may run better local models if they gave 12+GB of ram, but I don't think it's accurate to say that Apple Intelligence is not supported universally.

In this context we are talking about macOS 27. If your app requires 27, then it can correctly assume every machine will work.

The St. Lawrence Seaway traffic isn't at Vancouver levels, but it's far from negligible.

In the relatively long-term, I'm also interested to see what's going to happen with the expansions at Churchill. It's still certainly small right now but there's an interesting opportunity going the northern route.

Clearly this is something that was important to the person who posted it.

I am not the OP, but I am somebody who decides what software we use org-wide in a company, and this sort of thing matters to me.

I love this so much! This is such a cool hack, just for the sake of it. Amazing hacking and amazing art!

In the preso, she has said the full size output is on the website-

can anyone see what that link is? I didn't find it on the video page, but I might've just missed it.

I read the GitHub repo, but still don't quite understand-

What exactly is the advantage of doing this vs just running a prompt in my existing coding agent?

I don't understand why this is a harness/project vs just for example, a skill?

I'm confident there's a good reason, I just don't understand.

I'm not defending them or this behaviour but it sounds to me like they may think the message/threat this sends to silence future criticism from other people, outweighs the immediate sum.

(Internally I'm sure they could probably phrase it some other less negative way such as chance of people confusing the brand as still owned by them, etc) association

I'm not sure I understand the intention here-

One of the technical things I don't really understand, is that it is not that hard to have an agent use tmux/etc to type into Claude code directly if you really want to? Like using tmux vs Claude -p are effectively the same aren't they?

Like, I understand the way they are subsidizing or whatever but on a technical level, I don't see how this makes any meaningful difference?

Am I missing something? Is this more about policy than the specific way it is invoked?

I think for kids in particular, it's important to remember that the educational discount brings it down to US 500. That's not exactly nothing but that's a pretty reasonable amount for a non-crap laptop.

I certainly do not want to try to talk you into this particular phone – but just in the general case so you know, it's pretty easy to get physical Sims that you can download an eSIM onto.

I don't know much about how windows software is packaged, but I find that a solid majority of desktop software I use is in flatpack and server software in OCI images

I'm trying not to get nerdsniped, but in the realm of subjective pragmatics, I personally find `allowlisting` to be drastically more clear.
