Under 29 who knows but obviously higher.
You can't expect a coke head to not snort the whole bag. We just don't believe social media addiction is like a coke addiction. This isn't going to just get better either. What are the kids that grew up watching tiktok as a first memory all of the sudden going to become ludite hippies in 15 years?
I even had the thought that maybe generation alpha would be reactionary against all this. Looking that up, holy shit is that wrong.
It doesn't even make sense. What do you want blinking arrows on the ground to show the way instead of the much superior way of just looking at google maps now?
I just can't believe it seems like we are going to go my whole life without touch in virtual REALITY.
The problem is the killer app is virtual sex. It has always been virtual sex but these tech companies are not going to touch that one.
Not that I blame them if you think about for one second the backlash if Zuckerberg came out with virtual netflix and chill in VR. I think it is so obvious that you can even spend 50 billion in research but not even try to do touch. Totally off limits for the ramifications it would have.
I was a teenager before the internet and it is not like you could just go to the store and browse Playboy and Penthouse when you were 15. If a store had magazines with nudity it was behind the counter and obviously illegal to sell to children.
The people talking about free speech and censorship are obviously full of shit.
The point is not that it helps or doesn't help, the point is "we have to do something!"
Just like it is obvious from a breakdown of the data that is beyond stupid to send one giant diesel burning truck to pick up "garbage" then another giant diesel truck to pick up tin cans and cardboard at a net energy loss. Of course, it is impossible to stop this even if it would be rational thing to do.
"we have to do something!"
I would say someone blows a red light at least 50% of the time at a red light.
There might just not be enough cops now though demographically. That would be my guess. The same way there aren't enough nurses.
I am on TRT but when I started taking testosterone I knew it was for life. It would be a tough situation if I had taken TRT thinking that a few months would be some kind of long term fix but then find out I am in for life, after the fact.
I have to say though as a huge Brando fan that comparing Superman to Apocalypse Now is utter blasphemy.
There is absolutely nothing going on culturally.
"I am not into all this derivative AI crap. I like the creativity of humans. Do you want to go see Spiderman part 37 or Superman part 22 this weekend?"
We are already a culture that has been displaced by completely uncreative, derivative art and useless gadget making for cash. Maybe someone you can even sell their useless gadget so they can afford to go to some other place and culture full time.
AI is the only hope I have left for this culture.
Given the LLM hype and over a year in, I was expecting there would be all these "why didn't I think of that" uses by now.
I can't think of a single example. A chat bot no one is going to use seems to be the main use case.
I do have a 24 inch monitor that sits vertically to the side of this monitor but I haven't turned it on in at least a year. Even having to move my eyes is a waste of time. Screen space is simply not an issue for me.
Hope these people enjoy their videos because you aren't getting a whole lot more. It is like when I bought the sega saturn for like $800 adjusted for inflation as a kid. It was so cool for one New Years eve party and that was about it.
