Our understanding of this universe constantly changes. We all know those - Earth is flat or it is center of universe, on and on.

The black hole is happening. So it exists. So either the observations are wrong or the undeying assumptions are wrong or math / physics we are using to make sense of the event is wrong.

Click-bait articles serve no purpose in advancing science.

Lost as in ‘not meeting anymore since they are using chatbots instead’ or ‘took their lives’?

Of all the things happening in the world right now, this is somehow important!

Yep. I loved working with almost all people. Those I hated working - though minor - made it horrible. They had some ‘title’ to throw around and made everyone’s work and life miserable.

And how much ever feedback you provide and how much ever ‘culture’ talk goes on, as the saying goes ‘one bad apple spoils the whole damn bunch’.

There is lot of truth in ‘you join a good company, but leave a bad manager’ - or bad people, I would say.

Coincidentally I was just thinking about a wireless lamp. I would buy a very sleek one for garage - to avoid rewiring? Are there any plans for such a model.

All advice basically comes to this: “Look inside. The answer is within you.”

Everything else is noise. That said, finding that answer that lies within might take a day or a decade or never (my case - between decade and never!)

Be well. Be kind to yourself meanwhile.

What is the side project? Some details would be good, if you want some advice.

I agree. This is easier said than done. However, if a system is allowed to run scripts or arbitrary code without guard rails, all bets are off.

I have also used VC++ (ATL, MFC etc) till about 2005 or so - and can relate to that time and dev journey.

You can relatively easily pick up other languages and frameworks, especially using LLMs. This would help with your marketability for jobs.

Email me if you want to brainstorm.
