Small, single lane roundabouts are easy and comfortable to use for cyclists. Upfront the bikelane ends/merges with the main road. Inside a cyclist is as fast or faster than cars. Go with the flow. Use the whole road. The Netherlands have separate lanes for bikes. I think it's unnecessarily complicated in some cases, but it probably works well in general.

You could also reduce spending on military. The U.S. accounts for 42% of the global military budget. Virtually every empire in history has fallen due to overspending on an excessively large military.

Does this take relativistic effects into account? The video I mentioned doesn't. Near the speed of light your surrounding looks like sped up and the distance to your target is clinched. Your own time runs slower in comparison and the distance is shorter. So theoretically you're able to reach the destination millions of LY away in your lifetime.

Edit: I now watched the animation. It's exactly the same as the YT video. Speed of light is very, very slow.

On YT there is a video of a flight through the solar system at the speed of light starting at the Sun. It's a pretty boring video. You see very little movement and change over time. After 8 minutes Earth slowly passes by. After 44 minutes you reach Jupiter and the video ends.

So after you ordered the main meal, after you finished it, is it uncommon in the US to order something afterwards? Like coffee, dessert, an ice cream cup?

Are you saying that games get released on Windows a lot because developers prefer Windows as a development platform?

> Can generics be used to improve error handling and eliminate the if err pattern?

With the newly added type parameters on methods you can now implement monads that do the function chaining and error handling like in Haskell. But it still wouldn't look as nice imho. This will probably become the next Golang anti-pattern.

One thing the Ortsamt/Meldeamt is good for, you don't have to register to vote. You get a note in your mail when there is an election. The note informs you about the date and where your designated polling station is located and it somewhat serves as your voting-ID at the station.

URIs/paths are meant to point at resources/documents and therefore ideally should not contain verbs.

I almost ran into the metadata exhaustion problem myself. Thankfully I noticed before in btrfs assistant that the remaining metadata space is filling up dangerously fast. Before that I thought btrfs is as easy as ext4. Fire and forget, no adjustments necessary. Now I know that you have to limit the number of snapshots in some way or another. Wish there would be a more noob-friendly default configuration. Or two configuration options to choose from when installing: simplified, expert.

> A different thought I have that I couldn’t get around exploring is to implement behavior trees with channels (no go routines).

I don't think "channels without go routines" are possible. One thread can't send and simultaneously receive on a channel. I remember libraries that used go channels for control flow because the code looked better this way. They had to start a second thread to make it work which is very inefficient.

Better approaches are "functions" with internal state (generators) or the relatively new stdlib iter package.

Edit: the iter package internally uses compiler quirks to implement coroutines to be able to send and receive values on the same thread.
