No sound and the a and b buttons should be the other direction (a is to the right of b) on the keyboard.

I would be very interested in a writeup that talked about the likely trajectory of Apple's OS if they had bought BeOS instead.

I think the better analogy is kick-starting. Yes, you'd get model collapse eventually, but you can kick-start a new model by cloning an old one and then you start training it like a normal model from then on out.

I don't think that's what GP meant. I think the point is maybe they could build a moat by "knowing you" in a way that makes you care about using Claude rather than, say, Gemini.

Agreed. Terrible writeup.

Even if it does, these features aren't useful and can't be used in any realistic scenario. At best they're just party tricks.

1. If you start flying and land on someone or something, that's a problem. 2. My strong bet is what they demonstrated is as far as the thing can fly, which is definitely cool as a party trick, but that's it.

These cars are obviously chock full of machine-learning algorithms to be able to control themselves in the air in that way. I'd much rather see that ML muscle used for something that actually benefitted someone.

What happens if there's a rock in the road and it gets sucked up?

I wonder whether they will actually be able to recharge to that pressure level in a production car. I kind of doubt it, plus it will be noisy, consume a ton of energy and take a long time.

This sentence was obviously written by AI: "Six words. Certain meaning as a set. Decades of debate over the assignment."

No matter how researchers measure this, people on the left will always say they didn't do it properly. I'm personally satisfied that the work that has been done is "good enough" to establish reasonable baselines for many, and maybe most, countries.

Will the revenue stream last once people start pivoting their search volume in earnest across to LLMs? I basically never use Google search anymore.

No serious person in the field thinks this. Do some research.

It's because it's inconvenient to discuss. What you said is the actual truth.
