I enjoy working on, creating, and learning about highly available, scaled, distributed systems. I have fun mountain biking and doing power and olympic lifting. I have a soft spot for anything that deals with helping people learn, especially mathematics. I can be reached at my first name dot last name at gmail.com.

Seriously, there is something wrong wrong with you. Seek help from a professional.

No, it is not normal to be attracted to adolescents after you leave that age group.

Jesus fuck.

And you flagged it because? Without a reason, people make up their own. I think many assume bots because the other explanation means facing uncomfortable truths, like 30% of people supporting the existing Trump admin and being anti these protests.

What would that accountability look like?

Not op, but a small example: my elderly friends had 5 acres they owned and lived on for a few decades and wanted to split a lot off for their kid's family. The modernization costs (no continued septic - must run sewer, must put in additional access, must this, must that. They gave up after spending $40k in permits and paperwork when they realized it was going to cost a few hundred grand before construction of the new house even began. The city wants developers who can invest a lot of money for semi-luxury apartments.

Good thing nobody is working on automation that could pump those numbers. Oh, wait, they are.

How is your argument any different than Stalin killing only X people that he was suspicious of or the KGB only being able to target N people due to not having more manpower?

I think 0.001% is too high. These are not accidental; these are intentional. That you personally haven't been targeted is only limited by the ability of them to do more, which is continually changing

> Increases in the price of X cause the demand for X to drop, as people shift their spending elsewhere.

Elasticity of goods has entered the chat. If a significant amount of inelastic goods' price increase, cue inflation. Energy costs, especially fuel, are classic drivers of inflating prices.

Reminds me of cooking shows.

"This is utter shite"

"Thank you chef!" (Proceeds to burst into tears as they walk away).

I don't think it should be emulated.

It is important to understand how this technology works. It isn't magic. Your example is solid. Similar to the Chinese Room.

Do you think your legislators or most users understand tokens and predictions and what is going on? Do you think that those who bombed a school using it know this?

Until frontier models can account for the disparity between what they can do and what the person (or other agent) is asking, we will continue to suffer bad information used like good information.

That tokens cannot count letters like that is not a brain-dead gotcha. Ignoring how humans are using these models is lacking in critical understanding of the real world. People are literally going to die due to humans not understanding how this works (and already have). True brain-dead, and body-dead.

Ask each of those if they can spell seventeen, and then ask them how many e's are in the word.

Are you suggesting a bribe to Trump wouldn't "solve" the issue? His actions shout otherwise.

You can expect what you inspect - Peter Drucker

Action items need an a forcing feature (like an SLO) to insure they are picked up. And someone needs to follow up when the item isn't handled timely. It should show up in team performance metrics and guide changes to processes to insure they get done.
