Dunno, but it's a big reason why I hated living in SF, hate being lumped in with "tech bros", and absolutely cannot stand people who turn their entire personality into being "all in on AI".

End of an era, but the writing has been on the wall for a while now.

Is it weird that I can think of multiple "Palantir guys" and am not actually sure which zonked-out billionaire you're referring to?

I find it extremely hard to believe there's a sales rep for my generic-branded fluoride toothpaste, and even more hard to believe that there's one sending my dentist on vacations.

The provider for Chase credit card claims (insurance, price match, etc.) went through a company, EClaimsLine, that had nearly that exact phrase bold and red on their website for many, many years. I'm honestly shocked that their new website after the rebrand to Chase Card Services doesn't say it too.

I'm 100% convinced that this is the reason so many customer service jobs are being shelved.

No one who actually wants to provide a good experience for their customers would offshore, nor would they offload this to AI agents. They know that customers have very limited opportunities nowadays, so the company responses seem to be along the lines of, "fine, go somewhere else! Oh, there's nowhere else to go? I guess you'll be staying with us afterall muahaha!"

> Some dentists prescribe them even when they're not needed, since it won't be harmful to use a tube of the stuff every year, or even every 6 months, and it's profitable to them.

How is it profitable for them? If I get a prescription from my dentist and fill it at a pharmacy, how does my dentist make extra money from that transaction?

Is that common with ISOs, even after exercised? I don't think I have ever seen an opportunity given to employees to buy shares beyond their grant...

Right? If spending the most is lauded, why wouldn't I use the most expensive model, automate things that don't need automating, build things I don't need to build etc just to jack the spend up?

> It only signals to me that they have other priorities

Yes, priorities other than their business.
