Old Life: Attorney, IT/IP consultant, idiot.

I'm on some committees where we do stuff for people that gets filed and sometimes people who write things say things that are similar to our things and that makes both our things better at being listened to by people with more money than the people on our committee.

New life: Defense. Uniform to work every day. Nuff said.

Back when APTs were getting numbers, the joke was that Microsoft was "APT -1". The presence of windows/excel/outlook in your network was more of a threat than Anonymous, China and the DPRK put together.

>> all matter will eventually decay or annihilate and all that's left will be massless radiation such as photons. If this happens then the concept of space and time itself will cease since from within the reference frame of a photon space and time are undefined.

So all matter is pushed out (dark energy) eventually reaching its own event horizon in the dimension we call time, then continues as photons (Hawking radiation). And eventually after all the matter has done so, everything collapses and this universe ends? Sounds like we are in an aging BH to me.

23 years old. "Played football four times a week and felt fit and healthy."

Not necessarily an eating disorder, but there is high likelihood she is on some sort of diet regime. My money would be on low blood sugar lighting the fire on the vitamin D deficiency. I have seen more than a few "fit" marathon types collapse after missing/skipping a meal. They just don't have the reserves.

Ask a bank. Banks do not keep individual piles of cash for each depositor. Why do they put everyone's money into one big pile? See the movie It's A Wonderful Life for the famous monologue justifying the practice.

>> how I discovered vibe gaming.

No. Just no. AI has to stop. Today. The concept of half-assed "vibe gaming" is a bridge too far. Want to watch someone else play minecraft? That is what youtube is for.

Yes, but only if the organization is cooperative. Say you are a cop in Paris investigating some shady bitcoin transactions. But the mixer is in Japan. So you spend a year getting their records, only to point to another mixer in Canada. The goal isn't mathematical untraceability, just increasing the burden on investigators to the point they move on to easier targets. There are always lots of speeding tickets that need handing out.

They deposit the coins into organisations that mix coins from various customers. Its just like a bank. You deposit a fake/stollen 100$ bill one day and, if they accept it, you can withdraw a totally different 100$ bill from an ATM the next day.

"Oracle" being the cover for crypto bros who dont want to admit they need "the legal system" to fix thier mess. Its all idiology and freedom when you are poor but once you actually own something of value, like a flat, suddenly you want lawyers and police to keep you safe from bad people.

Once upon a time American-made televisions were a thing, back in the days of tubes. Television repair was a legitimate trade. Then Japanese electronics companies entered the market. Because of supply chain distances, and politics, they knew that servicing TVs in the US would be difficult. So the Japanese manufacturers decided to make TVs that would not need repair. And American TVs basically disappeared.

I'm not saying that will happen with cars, but it is something to think about.

Batteries (and their associated HV switching gear) are slow to react and have very limited lifespans, on the order of a few years. That's why your washing machine uses a capacitor to start its motor rather than a battery. Even capacitors are not as reactive as an already spinning mass.

Hydro is limited by geography. It cannot scale in the same way. Rather than giant spinning masses at central locations, current thinking is more about smaller masses scattered throughout a grid. There are even a few studies on whether existing air conditioner/heat pump compressors could contribute.

Building out batteries and solar farms. Balancing the need for peak load demands against the steady state of steam generators. Racing to get nuclear going before running out of space for solar panels.

Is this real or are we living in a Factorio livestream?

I am still a fan of centrifugal systems. The lifecycle costs of a spinning mass seem more manageable than the complexities of chemical batteries. The mass of a block of concrete and steal isn't going to degrade over time. And bearings/motors are such mature tech that they can last decades, even a century without replacement.
