Are we in the same industry? 26 here, coding since 11, never got a degree. Decided to develop for a living, managed it within a couple of months - didn't even have a portfolio.

The industry is crying out for developers, theres no reason why you wouldn't be able to get a job. Yeah the industry is fast moving but businesses aren't. If they choose to use a framework, them its going to be in their legacy code base for a good few years.

Remember, you are not paid to develop, you are paid to make the business money. Would you rather hire a developer who wrote an amazing 200 LoC a day and earned you 10k or the developer who deleted 3 lines, sent a few emails and earned you 100k?

Apply for every interview, don't aim too high - you can get a junior position no problem.

You can get a SNES to USB adapter on Amazon/eBay for not much, plug and play pretty much, just need to map it to your emulator.

You can't beat the feel of a genuine, 20 year old controller!

They also make them for pretty much every controller you could want - Even Wiiport to USB which means you could plug these NES Classic controllers into the PC to use with emulators directly.

I wish these all worked with Steam Link though :(

DDG don't track your IP or log activity against you. Bang searches are simply redirects as far as I'm aware and thus !g is equivalent to typing straight into Google.

But if you're using Google through DDG you're probably missing the point.

Genius as it is, it shows the true horrifying extent of commodity fetishism in today's society.

I don't get it... Let Google completely absorb my personal data for 6 months and seriously hinder my workflow - Because?

50 people to maintain a site the size of Twitter?

I find the technical and ethical complexities of coding fun though.

There wouldn't be a market for puzzles if some people didn't get their rocks off on thinking.

Humane killing, I imagine?

Stun gun or that bolt hammer thing right to the brain, over in a flash as far as the animal is concerned.

Far more pleasant than the natural way - 6 of us chasing it round the prairie chucking spears.

I think this article would have been a lot better had it had no content.

"based" is the key word there - The Xbox 1 1 has a CPU, GPU and an APU that are almost-but-not-quite like regular PC processing units.

Couple this with the fact that there's no documentation about how any of these work, it would take a lot of man hours and guesswork to start approximating how the system works.

Interestingly, XENIA (360 emulator) is coming on a lot better, and it's looking like it will be able to use the 360's backwards compatibility feature to play Xbox 1 1 games before we ever get a dedicated Xbox 1 1 emulator.
