Just bumbling around poking at things that perk my interest. If those things are tech related, I generally at some point get around to blogging[1] about them. I have a real passion for Mozilla as an organisation and thus they're often the focus of my efforts. I believe Open Source is fundamental to the advancement of software and as is my character, I'm very openly opinionated about that.

Thank you for this. I've been pressing skip on the small vertical pipes as a chimney to me is a made of brick. Curse being born in Britain!

Google's CAPTCHA is a cancer of the internet. We're all training their AI without any renumeration. I genuinely hope that some government figures out how to sue them. I've sat down for minutes, repeating CAPTCHAs over and over again, just to log in to an account or download something.

The creating of an account is really quite convoluted.

There needs to be a way to create sub accounts.

Finding content seems to be broken. Typing a search only seems to search for usernames.

Needs a one-click reblog.

Why is this on HN?

Samsung is a huge multi-billion (maybe even trillion) dollar company of which Electronics is only one division and you think it should be broken up because a (non-flagship) Samsung Gear Live watch wouldn't pair with (non-flagship) Samsung Galaxy Tab that was so forgettable, you couldn't remember the name of it at the start of your blog post? You do realise that's incredibly ridiculous right?

What makes this so bad for consumers is that if you search for an app via Google, you can't even open links directly.

It's a good question. Would be nice if the page could've details what makes the criteria for being featured.

Tox doesn't even have an official release. It's still in alpha stage development.

I have struggled to (on my travels) find an Apple charger that features the micro USB adapter. This has often lead to a dead battery.

Sorry to be slightly off-topic, but since you mention NoScript and are familiar with that, this (HTTPSB) and ABP, can I ask. Is HTTPSB more of a NoScript alternative or an ABP alternative?

The question has been a simple one: Continued dependence upon Flash versus DRM support in HTML. The answer is simple, transition the world to a post-Flash video.

The problem, at least where Mozilla stands, is how do you go about that/which partner should they choose for their Content Decryption Module? Sadly they opted to throw their weight behind Adobe's closed-source proprietary solution which doesn't empower their uses or the open web in the slightest.

They had it on a subdomain for ages. Glad it's finally the main site. It's actually beautiful. Now if only they'd redesign the Oyster bit too.
