I would not trust btrfs with anything mission critical.

Oh, neat, this mentions my patch to rust-brotli! FWIW, I do not, an never have, worked for Dropbox. ;-)

A similar tool would be possible for gzip - I made one a long time ago that could append a literal stored block to the end of a gzip stream.

One note about brotli - appendable chunks after the first will generally have a worse compression ratio because they can't reference brotli's built in preshared dictionary, but my use case was appending a small amount of dynamic data to an otherwise static file, where this isn't a significant problem.

I see the same thing with Q8.

I get the same messages in a MLX Q8 quant - I assumed it was reacting to the harness, but it doesn't seem to cause issues.

This was dead. Not sure why, but vouched, it's relevant.

They claim it applies to EU citizens when both they and the service are outside the EU as well.

To be clear, I find the claim that the models are sentient and have feelings to be preposterous, but I feel like the key takeaway is:

> It doesn't actually matter to you if they have feelings, because you will still get demonstrably better results across the board if you treat them as if they do.

However, personally, my main reason for that mode of interaction is that I interact with a lot of humans via text, and I do not want to habituate myself to being an asshole when the medium is words on a screen (or otherwise).

There are escape codes that can re-define palette entries. Usually including the 16-255 range.

Doesn't appear to be working, at least for UK purposes. Tool claimed to have worked, I dropped my VPN and my account is not age verified.

10gbps is slow enough to be annoying when you're loading a 200GB model, unfortunately.

I'm using an M3 Ultra w/ 512GB of RAM, using LMStudio and mostly mlx models. It runs massive models with reasonable tokens per second, though prompt processing can be slow. It handles long conversations fine so long as the KV cache hits. It's usable with opencode and crush, though my main motivation for getting it was specifically to be able to process personal data (e.g. emails) privately, and to experiment freely with abliterated models for security research. Also, I appreciate being able to run it off solar power.

I'm still trying to figure out a good solution for fast external storage, I only went for 1TB internal which doesn't go very far with models that have hundreds of billions of parameters.

My existence is not political. If someone doesn't think I should have rights and/or exist and/or thinks I am inferior because of who I am, then no, we cannot write quality software together.

If someone disagrees with me on tax, foreign relations, government services, defense, etc policy, sure, we can disagree and still work together.

What gives rise to people like Lunduke is not a simple thing, and something I don't think society fully understands.
