> software dev tools all IDE. Dead.

IDEs will be moot when I die. Even with tests and code gen, I still debug and verify code before shipping to QA.

This is a wild take.

It's the relationships. Most sales deals that bring in the money are still done face to face.

I don't really know if you could do multimillion dollar deals on a web form.

Someone needs to go out and sell advertising and services. And when those things are sold, someone has to keep the subscriptions going and growing.

Business is not just person to machine or machine to machine, a lot of it, even those of you that are in pure tech jobs has someone in the field selling to clients and keeping clients engaged.

There is a dichotomy to this thread. One side is free internet from government grasp, but I bet that the same people are the government gib me stuff people that want the government to care for them and intervene from cradle to grave.

> A human being a terrible person makes the news, the dozens of daily acts of kindness and decency never do.

If it bleeds it leads. The media can't sell ads with nice news. They need horribleness, catastrophy, and outrage to attract attention to the ads.

Density and the same people and ideas AKA homogenity of the population.

Look at Japan and rural Western societies. High trust, but the trust is because they are all pretty much the same people, demographics, beliefs, etc. and the density makes it so they pretty much know each other.

Is there a single model out there without a bias filter altering the input and output?

I think they tried zero bias AI in the past but it was deemed racist, cold, and antisocial by its creators.

But humans and corporations have group think at some level and those groups come with biases.

You forgot:

3. People who do not care and are not in IT or on Hacker News.

I doubt a lot of regular people care what Microsoft is doing. All they want is a laptop or PC that works or to be able to play their XBOX games.

All I have to say is LOL to holistic admissions.

Use standardized testing. We cannot power the future with feels, we need STEM grads.

> Provide a tightly scoped technical spec to Codex as a task, and ask for 3x solutions.

I'm using a personal license and Codex. What does this cost to generate 3x solutions as a starting point?

Even in simple coding I have been doing, I notice Codex will burn through my Open AI subscription rather fast.
