I remember this! Its crazy because the comments section on that thread seems more curious about the setup (with albiet one long thread about home costs). Massive contrast to this one.

same. still rockin a 2016 era dell xps 13. I was about to pull the trigger on a few laptops but I always psych myself out because I assume prices will drop and I can pick them up secondhand. big mistake...

I feel like this has already been a thing, at least in the US. In aldi, there is a popup when paying that asks if I want to bnpl.

stories like this give me hope. If a company is willing to pay for this dingus's ticket (or they can afford to pay out of pocket), I might be able to break into the cybersec industry :)

You could replace "robotics" with "AI" in what you wrote above, and it would sound like what people were saying about llms when they first came out. Not trying to glaze one way or another but historically this take is outdated.

Electronic devices that only need to do a handful of basic things like smartwatches and ereaders theoretically have less software complexity, which makes writing good software for them theoretically easier. in the age of ai, the threshold of "complex" has changed drastically- giving rise to even more open source adoption. Open source versions of these sw/hw tools seem to be a natural step forward.

I feel like these games exist- they just aren't popular, or are typically subpar in one way or another. The problem is that I feel like video games have become like music- there is innovation happening in genres, but there are so many and have fragmented off so much that I cant really recommend to you a game I find to be genius because there's a good chance that you can't appreciate the gameplay. That's not a knock on you or anyone else as a gamer.

Does anyone know how to get math and formulas to play well if I am switching to libreoffice? This is genuinely my only concern. It seems that inline formulas are difficult and clunky to edit.

It's really hard to recommend Prusa for the average person when non-enclosed printers go for 1k usd and multifilament is >2k, while creality and bambu go for 700 for multifilament, and much cheaper for single filament.

I'm not saying is the wrong thing, but it's the same reason casual users look at framework and balk at prices.

The tech behind this is fascinating- isn't this just how a wiimote works? So simple yet shocked that no one has thought of this before. Pricing seems incredibly reasonable as well (30$ for a lifetime license). If I didn't have a VR headset I would've bought this instantly.
